That was insane! Didn't know you could just jig a fly like that with a spinning rod. You should bring a Tenkara rod next time. It looks so much fun. And that Brook trout is absolutely STUNNING. The reason I believe the fish were near the lilies is something my grandfather taught me, green is good. If there's green vegetation in or near the water then that area is highly oxygenated which is verry good for fish. Also the lilies provide great cover for a fish. Keep up the great work.
