Fishing along Mirror Lake Highway | High Uinta Mountains

We take a Sunday drive down the scenic Mirror Lake Highway through the high Uinta Mountain wilderness to hit some easy to access lakes along the road. These spots are easier to access, family friendly, and a great way to spend a day in Uinta Mountains soaking in the views and catching a few fish! In the video we start by hiking about 1 mile into Ruth Lake and fish for the morning. There were a few fish rising and got a few bites but nothing in the boat. We next head down the road to fish the popular Pass Lake. This lake is right on the side of Mirror Lake Highway. It is packed, loud, and full of paddle boards, kayaks, and the likes. Same with mirror lake, washington, trial lakes. Any of these drive up lakes is a completely different experience from the serine nature experience you get when you backpack into the mountains. That being said we hooked into about a fisherman's dozen tiger trout casting a size 16 white mosquito dry fly and finding the one quite corner or the lake not impacted by strong wind gusts, they were rising like crazy!
