Fishing Canals in the Middle of the Desert! (INSANE)

Exploring various canals in the middle of the desert! We found fish in a lot of these canals and even managed to catch 6 species!
Arizona is full of canals, drainage ditches and even some small ponds that just happen to be in the middle of nowhere. These, however, can provide some of the best fishing in the state!
Desert canal fishing is probably my fav fishing now, just due to the scenery and species you can catch out there! Fishing in AZ should not be limited! Get out there and explore!

Canal fishing is really quite fun if you can get to the right spot. There are tons of species and it can be a quick trip. They are great for kids too because the fish always seem so willing to bite

Try the canal at Cardnials way by the 101 east side, the water is a little low and you can see the fish swimming up and down

I enjoy that canal you fished on day 2. Really cool spot. I’ve caught a few good smallies and a tiny striper in there. I’ll be out there in probably 2 weeks or so to fish it again. Would be cool to get out and fish it with you.

Oh yea it’s a cool little canal, been seeing more garbage there recently it sucks. Hoping it doesn’t blow up at some point. I fish weekdays so maybe I’ll see yah there!

We used chicken livers for catfish down there for decades then found a new bait thats works much better and we don’t have trouble with turtles anymore.

Hey brother, just wanted to say that if you ever want to go for some carp I have a spot where it’s loaded. It’s a canal of the sort, but it’s near a major river. The canal is absolutely stacked with carp and has various different depths. If you want the spot I could DM you because I would prefer not to publicly say the spot and have it ruined.

Absolutely man. There’s a huge difference from sharing fishing spots, and sharing fishing spots on social media. Considering I have an audience of 20 k plus people, we gotta assume at least 10k of those people live here in AZ. 1% of those people are 100 people, heck let’s say less than half of that 20 people come out to fish that spot. At least 5 gunnu overfish, keep the fish, leave trash, tell more people, etc… seen waaaaaay too many spots get ruined by social media so I keep where I am on the dl.
