I haven't caught crappie ither that's on the list for me too. The carp for me it helped when im bass fishing and ill see them surface in sertain areas and i come back in a later date to fish for the carp. They are especially fun on lighter tackle but those carp rigs help out alot using the dough bait and tipping the hooks with corn. And ill cast to the edges more than the middle and throw out a small hand full of corn or 2 in the water to get them feeding.

It should work i just tried the same at falcon and was catching them there too lol. But it definitely helps if you can scout it out first to see if they are in the general area.
