Nice vid, you'd like the fishing here in New Zealand, our smoothies (all starry), run to 20kg plus with 10kg quite common, not to mention the huge stingrays and eaglerays.

great video again guys . for anyone who can't afford a weigh sling u can use a big Ikea bag does the job great and folds into a small size not that a way sling is really expensive but it's a wee tip

I used it for spur it's great.its like a tarpaulin sheet so easy clean holds a lot of weight and folds into nothing

Great video , and really good to see someone like yourself promoting the use of weigh sling rather than hanging them up by the mouth . Hope everyone follows your example , thanks Andy :-)

Great video! hi I'm looking to fish the south wales side of the bristol channel soon for these fish, if I can't get hold of peeler crab what would be your second best bait ?? and any bait you wouldn't use when targeting smoothhounds? cheers guys

Love the vid Andy! Still yet to catch my first hound but i'm going to Porlock with dad this weekend so fingers crossed I can pull one out. And you'll be pleased to hear that i'm a big fan of Ultima as well! I use Ultima Black Ice in 20Ib and it's absolutely brilliant line! Casts like a dream, superb abrasion resistance, cracking knot strength and very strong. Then I attach 80Ib Ultima Powerflex to it, and I honestly can't think of a better combo than these two!
