Hi Ian Ian . Thank you for making such informative films. I have found them of great use in being able to find places and methods to fish. I used to dabble a bit on Brean beach whilst holidaying. Since my retirement I have moved moved over to sea fishing. Too many rules in coarse fishing and everyones got their hands in your pocket. So again thank you. And what bait should I be using when fishing. We are thinking of going fishing after sunset as people say there is a strong chance of catching fish in the evening than day time
@ianclarkfishing4 жыл бұрын
Mumtaz Zafar hi thanks for watching! Nice to see you taking up sea fishing! The bait you use has a bearing on what you might catch. As we get into spring the fishing improves. Worm baits are a good start either lug or ragworm bought from a tackle shop. You just thread them onto the hook....no need for anything else. If you using a fish bait it’s a good idea to wrap it on with bait elastic from a fishing shop. In an emergency you can use shearing elastic. My advice is speak to a local tackle shop as they will know the area and what works best! Cheers ian
@mumtazzafar15764 жыл бұрын
@@ianclarkfishing thanks for the reply Ian. You are a lucky man as you probably live near the seaside. I am in Bradford so either east or west coast the distance is the same. 70 miles lol. Unfortunately due to this there is hardly any sea fishing tackle shop. Most of them deal with fresh water fishing like ponds or lakes. The tackle shop in bradford does sell frozen squid or it can also be bought from morrisons etc fish section. As far as lugworm or black worms are concerned I dont think I will be able to find them. I am interested mostly in cod fishing . Plaice is not bad either. I will be grateful if you could give me a little more advice as you go sea fishing yourself. People say that night fishing is alot better than day fishing as one has more chance of catching fish. People also say that one should fish when the high water starts as it brings the fishing closer to the beach?
@ianclarkfishing4 жыл бұрын
Mumtaz Zafar ok so the cod season is ending plaice the best bet you definitely need worm baits for them! If you pick a beach you want to try then google tackle shops near it .....I can’t stress enough that local advice is what you need. Some places fish best at high water some at low so i can’t give definitive answers sorry!!! There may be a local sea angling club you could join too??? All the best Ian

@Neil.W4 жыл бұрын
@@fisherrich100 there are plenty of youtude vids about how to dig lug, the only thing to bear in mind is how densely packed your local lug beds tend to be. If they are very dense then you would just dig a trench through it. If they more dispersed, so you can dig individual worms, then there's a technique which you can easily learn from youtude.

@ianclarkfishing4 жыл бұрын
Gareth Plumb hi again Gareth! Nice to hear from you again. In answer to your question I think the cod we caught are ones that hang around the reef most of the winter. @ianclarkfishing4 жыл бұрын
Jack Acid hi Jack thanks for watching! It’s no secret at all I would love you to catch loads of cod! We use lugworm usually tipped with a 3 inch piece of squid. Because the Bristol Channel is murky the cod need a big bait to smell so I would use a lot , maybe 6 or so worms, on a largish pennel rig!
