Great video nice catches, if only you could swap the casting reels paint job & chrome bits over ,that would be great, red isn't the most stealthy color for use in clear water close quarters fishing I like dark reels for that fact..

Hello Mr BCSG Thanks for this new video. It's incredible the number of plastic bags in Kallang .. each time I got a headache by trying to use a sinking lure at kallang cause plastic every 2 casts ....... How is the Tsurinoya UL vs Teton ? For now, I have a Teton L 2-10 gr (same as yours) and also a Teton UL( 1-4 gr) and I would like if you can share a feedback about UL ? I got Kuying Thunder (before your Tsurinoya review) and after I change the ball bearings for BFS bearings, it cast acceptable +/- 20 m but the magnetic brake should be setup upper 50% of the brake power + the spool tension cannot be "free" or backlash. I also have a new scorpion BFS but I tried it only one time with no catch, so I cannot share an accurate feedback for now but it cast smoothly even if the distance of cast is not awesome compared to thunder for example. If I see you one time in front of the water, I will ask you to try the scorpion BFS. thanks again for all your instructive videos.

+Laurent M hey man, I think the Tsurinoya Pro Flex II UL is a better rod than the teton, the construction quality is better, it is abit heavier than the teton but it is more well balanced. But it is also a solid tip rod and the teton is tubular, this makes the action very different. The tsurinoya UL has a very soft tip but a much stiffer blank, the teton is a more uniform bend throughout the blank. This also means the tsurinoya has more hook setting power and it is easier to control the fish. The teton is a good rod but the Tsurinoya Proflex II UL is worth considering if you want a better rod that is not too expensive.

+THE REEL TEST it has to be the worst "finesse" reel I have used! It checked all the right boxes, smooth, well built, 12.5g shallow spool, "japanese" bearings, 12 second free spool time. But it just doesnt cast well, anything lower than 5g is a huge problem. And it seems I'm not the only one who has this problem with this reel.

+Papa Squally yep, many places are illegal to fish in Singapore. In fact, the better way to describe it is everywhere is illegal to fish except the specific legal grounds. Less than 10% of the accessible water bodies are legal for fishing.

Last 2 years, I travel to SG and try to fish peacock bass here. But get nothing! LOL. However, I will try again in next month but no more for Kallang. Pandan or Kranji?

+MrHisoman I think Kranji Ground A is a better bet to try first. It is small and quite reliable for peacock bass on small finesse lures. Pandan is large and you really need to work the whole area, it takes a few hours.

+MrHisoman if the weather is good 5pm-7pm is a good time for kranji. Or 6am-8am. Don't go on Sunday, it will be crowded. 5pm-7pm is good for Pandan from Monday to Friday, dont go to Pandan on the weekend, it is very crowded. Good luck!

I wonder if the POTM reel is just a generic reel from china?.. I meant by like the parts are the same from any china reel like kuying or etc?.. and then they just insert somekind of shallow spool to into their reel, then walla! They got a complete finesse reel just like that..?

+Hafiz Shapiee its possible and actually that is probably exactly what they did, but the spool is also the most important part. All my shimano reels are generic reels that have a finesse spool, the brakes are the same as before. The bearings only make a small difference, so there should be no reason why the potm performed so badly. I gave it a second try since i recorded this video and the result was the same, it just doesnt work for anything lighter than 5g.

BCSG Fishing 100% agree with the spool. Well, that makes me even more curious what's the problem with reel since everything in the reel are generic parts.. Logically speaking it should be at least castable. Nevertheless this is very a good video! +D3vilM4yC3y D3vil i have used a bfs reel on my daiwa bbb 666 tmlrb and it does work for casting light lures but the rod is not suited for light lures so it feels weird.

So stupid to use lipgripper by so small fish even when using gloves its very strange. Never use lipgrip it damage by Perch Bass Seabass and even Pike. You maybe have knowledge about some reels, you dont have it of the fish you catch even when you have the big watch the stretch long T shirt short panty pants gloves and trainers etc, dont make you a good fisher 👀by all means
