If thats grass bed and sand holes in that area the trout will be everywhere and the issue with floating live shrimp is the pin fish. 80% of the time the legs of the shrimp get nibbled off and then the bait gets ignored quite often. Living and fishing South Tampa Bay to 10,000 islands I have found artificial baits produce the best fish on the flats and shallow areas. If you have never tried one check out the Yo-Zuri crystal minnows, I find them to catch just about anything in FL waters and have caught some very nice FL reds on them. (Lol nothing like the bulls you catch but for FL not to shabby!)

Haha, Elias, last year I went out there after watching this video. My son and I went... It was the worst, most stupid kayaking adventure I've ever been on. I don't think I caught a fish. We did manage to break 1 rod, loose 1 reel, Loose a Rod holder, Get the 120 Auto Stranded in a 1/2 mile stretch of 3 inch water. lol We managed to do this all within about 400 yards from shore. We heard people laughing all the way from shore. lol Don't know how you managed to get where you were but we didn't find that.

Damn I was there last week launched from Everglades City caught some nice redfish and the fattest trout I ever saw. Also caught 3 juvenile goliaths, a barracuda, and a bunch of under slot snook. I'm planning on launching from Choko Wednesday to avoid that long paddle across the bay in the wind from EC.

@@saltyskippersportfishing I ended up with 3 nice keeper trout and 2 small snook. Was going to try for a redfish on the oyster bars but the wind was ferocious. Good luck tomorrow! Eta: super low tide this morning I could barely get inside on a kayak! In fact had to get out and tow it over one spot.

It’s funny how you compare the Goliaths on chatterbait to bass fishing which it totally is except that a lot of bass fishermen are using even heavier tackle to catch 2lbs fish!

Drop a lady fish or a little jack on heavy conventional with 130lb leader and there are 50 lbs plus goliaths in those creeks. Biggest trout isolated up in the mangroves where you would catch a snook.
@EliasVFishing3 жыл бұрын
Had one crush me other day. Good tip on the trout. Would be cool to see a nice one.
@kirkdavis28813 жыл бұрын
@@EliasVFishing real big trout seem to be loners down there at least. Even back in the 90s when schoolie trout were mostly 13 inches, I would catch a 5 to 7lber every once in a while off a snook tree mixed in with the snook. Also if the water is warm, up on real skinny flats but very hard to approach with a poling platform let alone see and cast to from a low seated position.
