Brilliant video,would love to see another specimen style fishing video sometime in the future. I recently really got into specimen fishing as i like all the prep and waiting for the fish in the nice warm bivvy rather than sitting on the seatbox all the while.. Thanks again and keep them coming lads!!

One of the reasons your last fish fought harder was because it was a mirror, and they are renowned for fighting harder than commons. Looked like it had a stumpy tail though. Good video, very informative and I will be trying the pellet feeder very soon. Tight Lines.

They are the exact same species as common carp it’s a genetic mutation of colour, it doesn’t affect strength or size

@CB-xr1eg 6 жыл бұрын
They're all carp obviously but there are different variations such as mirrors, commons, ghosties grass carp etc. I just seem to find that mirrors seem to put up a better/harder fight than commons, and grass carp fight even harder. Tight lines..

I noticed that when the feeder was about to hit the water,you pulled the rod up to about 90 degrees-I'm guessing it's something to do with being clipped up,could you explain please?
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 7 жыл бұрын
Yes David, it allows you to then have a bit of free line so you can sink it. If you hit the clip on a really tight line you struggle to sink it. Also when fishing clipped up it's nice to have at least one turn on the reel.

Hi Chris, great video as usual. is the pellet feeder effective in open water as well as up to features? have couple of waters where I might try it where the features are underwater rather than islands. Is it effective on mixed fisheries as they arent out and out carp venues? Cheers :-)
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark Schofield thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! :-) Yeah the pellet feeder will work in open water or against features, it's quite good on the latter, as because you tuck your hook length in, there's no dangling bits to get hooked on the bushes!! etc :-) Also it'll work on mixed fisheries, altho it's particularly good for Carp and there often aggressive nature! Hope this helps a little, Cheers Chris.

Hi there, nice video! I've a couple of questions for you. 1. What is the name of the rod and price? 2. If you hook a big carp and it runs, why doesn't break the line on the clip? 3. Where can you get those pellets? I live in Holland and I can't get them! Thanks for the information in the video!
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Familie van Driel the rod is a Daiwa Team Daiwa Feeder rod, if you look at the link in the video description there's a tackle box link with all the items used in it. You can also purchase them to ship to Holland too. If you hooked a really big fish when 'clipped up' the line may snap, however 99% of the time you can normally get a good few turns on the reel to protect your clip, then play the fish normally. You can see the pellets in the tackle list too, they are called Sonu Band'ums and come in a variety of different colours etc Hope this helps and thanks for taking the time to comment, glad you enjoyed the video! :-)

Hello, my name is Blake! I was wondering, how do you colour your pellets in your big pellet box? Do u buy them coloured or do you colour them your self? And if so what pellets do you use? What size? And what make colouring do you use if you colour them yourself? Great videos! Tight Lines And Wet Nets!

Hi xPort Clan glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment. We buy a mixture of pellets already pre-coloured, they are Sonu Baits Band'ums, they are around 6-8mm in size and are available in different colours. If you click the tackle box link in the video description you should be able to see some there if you do a search. :-) Tight lines, cheers Chris.

Hello guys, great video and awesome fishing! I was only wondering when i am fishing a five or six hour match with one kilo micro pellets for the method feeder and the pellet feeder which i am using the full match. Can i have pellets left or am i struggling and need to prepare some more before the match ( i like to feed much )? Greats
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Say Coyza thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoy the videos and our channel! Ummmm to be honest, 1kg should be more than enough really, however I guess it depends on how much your casting and how many fish you are catching! Also what size method feeder you use etc There's no right or wrong answer to be honest! If you are worried about wasting bait, perhaps prepare 0.5kg to start with or something :-) Hope that helps, good luck with your fishing and tight lines.

Hinderclay lakes I fish there a lot. Looks like peg 4 there, the reason the fight hard at the bank is because like you said the bank does go under your swim, had a few decent fish from new lake biggest I've had is 15, are you local to hinderclay we could have a match 😉 quality video mate

Great stuff Ryan Moyes I think Steve has fished there before, but it was my first time on the complex, I was very impressed, a lovely set of lakes. Interesting that you say the bank is undercut, that would definitely explain why the fish fought so hard under the rod tip!!!! :-) Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! Tight lines, cheers Chris.

How long do you soak your 4 mm pellets for, I'm assuming four minutes? Do you leave them covered completely in water for four minutes and then drain the water off completely, or turn the box upside down let it drain off a little bit more slowly?
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Penn, yeah thats the general rule of thumnb. 4mins for 4mm, 6mins for 6mm etc etc We normally just drain the water straight off. Leave the lid on your bait box and let the water drip through the holes. Give it a good shake too.

Hi Steve, Just wondering what type of pellets can stuff into a pellet feeder? Was looking for brands and sizes etc. I've tried robin red micros on the method but they go too sticky when soaked for even 2 minutes, would 4mm expanders (skrettings etc) be best on the pellet feeder? Or would they need a stick mix liquid to hold them together? Sorry for the questions i'm still a novice :)
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, pretty much any pellets (apart from expanders) can go into a feeder, you just need to soak them. You sorta want them to go sticky so they stay in?

I'm new to clipping up. Do you keep your line clipped up all the time ? If so how do you unclip if the fish makes a big run right after you set the hook ?
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Cameron, if you clip up you have to be careful as there's not alot you can do if you hook a big'un. The only thing you can do is try and unclip as quickly as you can. For species like Bream and smaller carp it's ok, but if you're fishing for really big fish then it's probably best not too.
@cns180784
@cns180784 6 жыл бұрын
I'd say if you're fishing for up to double figure Carp you could clip up but use strong line so you can pull back hard and stop the fish from bolting, at least 8lb breaking strain with a hook length close to that. I used 8lb mainline and a 6.4lb fluorocarbon hook length the other week though i didnt catch anything that big but thats my theory.

Another great video! Do you still use the pellet feeder in the weather we have now? (Winter temps, 5-8 degrees) or would you prefer to choose straight lead?
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 10 жыл бұрын
Thanks MrTim207 glad you enjoyed it! Ummm to be honest the Pellet feeder would work all year round, the only thing I would change is the size, so a smaller feeder (=less feed) in the winter months and then a larger one (=more feed) in the summer months. Something like that anyway! It always depends where I'm fishing, but I certainly would hesitate in using it. Tight lines, cheers.

By cutting the lid off the feeder you have broken many fishery rules as if the method feeder is banned so is what you have done you yours as you have allowed fish to suck up your hook bait from any angle and that’s why there is a lid on the pellet feeder to stop that from happening

@CB-xr1eg
@CB-xr1eg 6 жыл бұрын
Peter Seager. I don't get your point. Steve leaves his hook length hanging from the end of his feeder as he clearly demonstrated. So what does it matter which angle the fish eat the pellets in the feeder from? They're just basically loose feed/free offerings. Also, do you know this fishery, are you acquainted with the rules? If not then you don't know that Steve has broken any rules...and I very much doubt that he has done so. Tight Lines! :)
