Hi, great video, could you explain a bit more about the Flying Back Lead set up and what you use as a stop ? Thanks
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV7 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, I think Steve uses the Preston Flying Back Leads, these come in a kit format and instructions (They're simple to use). Stop wise you can use a small float stop or something like that, just ensure it can move under tension. Hope that helps. Cheers Chris

I think you're right, most of the pellets will definitely come off after the feeder has hit the water. If you think about it, is travelling at 30 or 40 miles an hour, that's one hell of an impact. However, I noticed you had some of that sticky mix stuff I found that if you add some of that to the pellets feeder, they stick like concrete in the feeder, you could cast a hundred and 50 yards and they will all stay on. However always sure whether that's a really good idea. Sometimes I have wound in after half an hour and every single pellet is still in place on the feeder.

It's a case of experimenting and seeing what works on what lake on what day! That's one of the great things about fishing I guess, you can always carry on learning and experimenting with things :-)

Do you think you'd have caught as well on a micro pellet feeder or even a banjo? Would be good to do a direct comparison.
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV9 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure +kevsmith060 like you say it would be a good comparison I guess! It would be good to test them all out and see what performed best! I think the Guru Hybrid and the Banjo are fairly similar, however the Hybrid casts better. Each of them have there own little innovative features though. Perhaps that might be a video to try one day, test them all!! :-)

how many fish would you catch on the same hook link befor changing it ... great vid by the way 👍
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind comments John, glad you enjoyed it. Hmmmm we'd change them whenever the hook link 'frayed' or when the hook wasn't sharp/effective. This can very depending on where you're fishing and what you're fishing for. Just give it a quick look over every cast to see if it's still ok. :-)

Nice, i fished the bomb with corn on a fishery near me today, just caught an 8lb 4oz mirror and was getting bites after that but kept missing them. I think i did hook a few more but the hook pulled think it was due to small fish and using a size 14 hook. After switching to a size 16 the bites seemed to stop, only got a couple of knocks and i decided to pack up early due to crap weather. Have you had this when fishing a running lead where you miss so many bites? the advantage of how you fished here was due to the fish hooking themselves. I have a Banjo feeder but for where i fished today i think i'd like to try it again but with a pellet feeder as its deep, about 11 foot. I have yet to use a method feeder or any other type of in line feeder (bought a Banjo but have yet to use it) is it ok to use a pellet feeder with just groundbait? Thanks for posting these videos and i like the ideas you put across such as the liquid additives, keep it up.
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV6 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, if I was missing bite's I'd be tempted to step up a hook size, not go smaller. You could use a pellet feeder with just groundbait, it would be fine. In deeper water something like a pellet feeder would be a little better, as it protects the bait more on the drop. When using methods like this (self hooking methods) most of the time the fish should hook themselves and give you a proper pull round on the tip. If you're missing lots of smaller bites, it's possible they could be line bites. (Fish knocking into your line.) Perhaps sit on your hands and wait for a proper pull round! :-)
@cns1807846 жыл бұрын
Hi there well i fished today the same fishery as last week where i caught that 8lb mirror. I fished a different peg near an island and it was different to the last session in a few ways. Firstly didnt get any bites for about the first 2 hours or so! i was advised by a bloke who passed me last week to fish this peg and wished i hadnt listened to him as i already knew where the deeper water was and hence where nearly all the fish would be this time of year. Today was strange...i've had silvers go for my corn before but today they werent interested in that and no Carp showed up so i didnt get a sausage fishing with corn but i had some red maggots and they saved the blank. In the end i just caught a few roach and Skimmers on red maggots...their bites are always the same pretty much, i rarely get a proper bend in the tip, just little knocks and takes good reflexes to strike them i'm finding. Wasnt very good today i'm still glad to have caught fish and i welcome silver fish but with the gear i was using whenever i hooked one i couldnt feel anything, every time i thought i missed the bite and there it was on my hook as it got near the bank. You always like to feel the fish having a good pull putting up a scrap but oh well there you go, you wont always catch Carp or any of the bigger fish at the end of the day, thats fishing. Its interesting and what i do like about this lake i've been fishing is you just dont know what you'll catch, but i think next time i'll fish a smaller lake thats full of small Carp, F1's and even some Goldfish and it never lets me down on the Carp front. They're not big in there but that doesnt matter still fight a lot more than those silvers today and after today i need some Carp therapy! Thanks for replying and i think i'll get a pellet feeder and try that for next time on this lake in the deeper water...after i've had my Carp therapy on the smaller lake lol. Hope to see more videos like this soon keep it up lads great videos.

Hi Tell me if l am wrong, but. L was always told that you should nöt Keep carp in a keepnet. Regards Barrie
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV9 жыл бұрын
Hi +barrie watson you can keep Carp in a keepnet, IF the fishery allows this. Even if the fishery does you should not keep too many in one net and you shouldn't keep them in there for any long period of time.

I've been fishing at felthorpe lakes a few times after tench but still have not caught one - what do u recommend?
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV8 жыл бұрын
Feeder fishing with ground bait and particles (Hemp, caster, sweet corn etc) would be a good method to catch them. Try and fish as early as you can in the morning, or dusk in the evening. Look out for small pin prick bubbles on the surface - normally a sign that Tench are in the area. Did you see our Tench fishing video we added recently? I believe Felthorpe contains alot of Carp, probably alot more than Tench, so it maybe that the carp are beating them to the bait first. Hope that helps.
@sambrumpton37738 жыл бұрын
+From The Waters Edge TV thank you - I was mainly catching larger bream from about 12pm (when I got there) to about 3pm then I only caught small fish so I might go night fishing(24h) so I can try and catch some tench early in the morning on a method feeder (maggots and worms on the hook -is it a good idea ?) thanks again.
