I would honestly believe that you should use a longer segment of line to test the strength of the line. I think a 10 foot segment of line would be good, given that you’d have at least that much off the reel at any given time while fishing. More line would allow more energy to disperse through the line, and should show a significant improvement in breaking strength. I’d love to see that test!

Test it wet think it would gain a bit of strength .maybe because of the heat generated by friction wet line wood stay cooler at the point of failure . Im not a scientist so im only guessing .and probably easier to jest pick up a 20lb wait . But thanks for taking the time to do this test 👍

You need to have it wet for a true test & also need to have at least one end it is tied permenant so it won't move. I see you moving one or the other as you pull the line. Not a true test unless wet & steady on both counts. Just saying!

It’s all I use on my reels typically 20lb but 30lb when I’m stripper fishing with 4oz or more lures and weight in some ripping current. I’ve yet to have it snap and even when I do get snagged it’s a bear to break it off

I've been using the 20lbs stealtj braid. It has a texture that may shorten your cast. Also its slighty larger diametwr than most of the same lbs. Like the stealth 15lb is eqaul to 6lbs mono. A lot of others 15lbs braid is eqaul to 4 lbs mono.

This is the reason why I don't believe all of those crap people spewed about Chinese products being lower quality than those so-called 'American products!" I have bought a bunch of fishing rods and reels from Aliexpress and Amazon that are all made in China and they out-performed all of those rods and reels made by American companies! Plus, I get a lot more features, better materials, and high-tech gears on these Chinese rods and reels that are only found in extremely expensive American rods and reels! The Chinese reels that I paid for less than $18 have the similar features and gears that are found in a $250 reel made by an American company! I think most of the American companies made their products in China and the Chinese used the exact same methods and technology to make their own lines of products and that's why you often see inexpensive Chinese goods being sold at rock-bottom prices but still have very high quality!

I just bought Sougayilang PE Classic, 39.5lb, 328 yds. for $7.40 on Amazon. 60% failure @20 lbs. 100% failure @25+ lbs. Conclusion: Buy the good stuff. Or use it as cheap 20 lb. line.
@frankc64303 жыл бұрын
american brands can be crap too, the chinese make good stuff and crap stuff in the same factory , all depends on how much you want to spend ...just like cars of the same brand but different models some are crap and some are the top of the line and they cost more, the same rule applies to most manufacturers when they sell their products and then comes the wholesale buyers that wants his brand on it and then the next and the next .
