I read about a german fighter pilot who moved his family close to his aerodrome, he would fly sorties against american bombers by day and come home to his wife and kids at night, pretty intense!

Did you trim your plane before take off? I mean, you fly so steadily, whilst I struggle to maintain a straight line... Do you have any tips for trim usage? Great flying btw

I think i didn't use trim at all in this mission. I'm a bad example, but the thing is i've played this for 15 years now and i don't have to make a concious effort anymore to get basics right. You should try to always trim your nose slightly down, this way you gather speed while not actively doing anything.

I feel that it really depends on the altitude and what fuel the 190 carries, the 190 aint no slouch

Yes, according the the surviving pilots interviewed by Donald Caldwell for his JG26 unit histories, at 'lower altitudes' the surviving pilots (INCLUDING the 'nachwuchs'-the rather less well trained late war new pilots ) felt they could outrun anything on the Allied side in an A8, the weight & dispersion of fire allowed even a pilot with poor aim to hit a target; lastly the FW's well balanced & sensitive controls and incredible rate of roll allowed pilots the chance to get out of trouble quickly if things got too 'hot'.

Question, how's the FW190's flight model after modding? I remember it was terribly flawed when I still played it. (need a new pc first before reinstalling it) I loved the game but so hated the incorrect FW-190's flight model.

They are heavily talking over each other, but i can hear: "Hilfe, haltet mir den Rücken frei", which roughly translates as: "Help me, clear my tail!" and "Verdammter Mist, mich hat's erwischt" which could be translated as: "Damn/Fucking crap, they got me".

By using "Taxi to Takeoff" waypoints. The official 4.12 patch by team daidalos introduced the taxi to takeoff feature. The patch came with explanatory missions, you may also take a look at this mission in the editor.

So is this 1943? Yes the Fw was great but which variant was it verse which variant of the P-51. The Fw was superior to the Spitfire, and then the Brits came up wit the the Mk IX and then the German came up with the Fw 190 4 and so on until the ultimate radial engined Fw 190 8 ......and then they had two versions Radial and Junker Jumo Inline engines in the Fw 190 D and Ta 152 H and C The Germans did well considering they were having to make their aviation fuel out of coal, the Germans had to put up with fuel rated as 80 Octane where as the the USA and Brits had Octane levels of 100 to 150!

The issue is that the il2 ai uses every aircraft as a turn fighter. none of the us fighters is any good at that. Yeah, a competently piloted Mustang will just kill you, when you are in a 190A.
