Both of these are currently my #1/#2 choices, Fisker Ocean Ultra & Kia EV6 Wind AWD. Fisker has better range and off-road capably & more ground clearance. Both look great but different. Interior, not including the dash great on both. Kia dash is very attractive, and I personnally like some mechanical controls and screens blended into the daah. I hate the Tesla like minimalist dash abd screen that sticks up high and looks like an afterthought. Conclusion, Fisker has better specs but Kia has a nicer dash which is what we see every moment we are inside the car, so Kia for me.

The Fisker Ocean is being made by Magna in Austria. Magna has been making vehicles for Toyota, Jaguar, Range Rover, and BMW for several years. There's no better looking mid-sized EV or SUV on the market that starts at $37,499 ($29,999 after tax rebates) Deliveries begin THIS YEAR Q4. They have over 26k reservations so far.

Great comparison - yes, the Fisker Ocean looks to be a really great vehicle. It is very much to be hoped that an AR head-up display will also be offered... Currently I see my personal favorites as ZEEKR, Nio, Genesis and Fisker. I'm really looking forward to further news and especially the market launch of the corresponding vehicles in Europe.

You forget to mention that Kia offer 7yr/100,000mls warranty? Does Fisker offer this? Plus in Europe the GT is only about 6,000USD more expensive than a top spec GT line. So not as expensive as you might think. Both cars look great and I am sure the Fisker will be a success in certain parts of the world?However comparing Fisker to Kia/Hyundai group in research and development budgets and as an established car maker and especially EV’s is currently quite far apart in my opinion. Its great that these bespoke brands like Fisker are about, but when spending your own cash, sometimes heart and head may say different things.

Mark, 7 year warranties aren’t much of a selling point for Americans who daily premium vehicles and are prone to lease. Hyundai/KIA is *not* established in the EV space, and this comparison was not a good look for them since they _are_ the more established automaker as far as this comparison goes. Fisker is simply offering a better EV experience with the Ocean and you’re getting more car for your money. Being a “established” ICE competitor doesn’t necessarily mean you’re ahead in technology, research or in the development of your first fully electric ⚡️ & battery 🔋 powered products. That’s a common misconception too. Lastly, as “established” as Hyundai Motors Group may be, it’s not like they have much of a identity of their own to fight with. In fact, HMG offers Americans little-to-zero originality in both ICE _and_ EV markets. For example; these seats look like something out of a Ford Mach-E, the curved glass displays are poached from Cadillac but not executed nearly as well, and the exterior styling of the EV6 looks like a cheap watered down version of the DBX from Aston Martin. It’s no different than their watered down remakes of the Bentley design language seen on their Genesis portfolio. This company has very little originality and _that’s_ ultimately what sets your product apart in such crowded segments whether ICE or EV. Although they may not be as “established”, brands like Fisker - much like Rivian, Lucid, etc. are the polar opposites of HMG identity crisis. The Ocean literally *shines* and sparkles in this regard and that’s why folks will be drawn to it. The specs, proportions and overall price/value are the icings on the cake slice over the KIA EV6.
@markgeezey1809
@markgeezey1809 2 жыл бұрын
@@mybro727 interesting point of view. But as a Brit/European I can comment on the fact that the EV6 has not only won the german 2022 premium car of year, but many other awards from established organisations here in Europe. Most Europeans haven’t even heard of Fisker. Albeit I have and love their original EV. So I think in this case we have to agree to disagree on this basis. And to be called a watered down Aston Martin DBX, well I can think of worse things. Kia/Hyundai are very established in the EV market and as brands very well established this side of the pond. I personally have been fortunate to own and drive some fantastic vehicles and in my opinion I was very impressed by what Kia especially have done with the EV6. If you haven’t already I would maybe suggest you take an AWD GT line for a test drive, actually I think you would be more surprised than you might think on how Kia have come on leaps and bounds with this vehicle. But each to their own and that is why we all love cars. I hope you enjoy your day.

Love your videos! Keep up the great work. I have a Mach E on order; the Fisker interior with the driver dash + big screen reminds me the most of that, honestly. The EV6 is probably #2 on my list behind the Mach E. Even though it charges more slowly, I just like the styling of the Mach E more, so that’s my personal preference. I like the Ocean Fisker also not only for it looks but also for the tech and that it is front wheel drive if you get the Sport trim, which I have put a deposit. When I looked to buy the EV6 all the dealer had jacked up the price from the MSRP. So far Fisker has not changed their pricing, hopefully they will honor their price for those that already have given a deposit.

You should check out the Fisker Ocean if you can wait 1.5 to 2 years for an EV. I ordered two Fiskers. Get in on ground floor with federal tax credit of $7500 since reservations in tens of thousands and not hundred of thousands. If you pay at least $7500 in federal taxes on year you purchase an EV and the company has not sold 200,000 total of that model then you can subtract $7500 from your federal taxes that year. Tesla’s model 3 and model Y no longer qualify. The Volkswagen ID4, Mustang Mach e still qualify (still less than 200000 vehicles of each of the EVs as of Feb 2022). However over the next after another 1.5 years they probably will no qualify. The down payment for a Fisker is $250 and this money is put into a secured account so Fisker Inc. cannot just take your money if they do not follow through with making the vehicle. You can make a second reservation for $100 as well. The second reservation for purchasing a second Fisker ($100) is fully refundable if you cancel but the first reservation ($250) is partially reimbursed if you cancel the reservation minus 10% (-$25). This is much better than when Tesla would keep your full $100 reservation fee if you cancelled. Those that do order and purchase/lease a second Fisker is not likely to get the second vehicle for at least 9 to 12 months after first vehicle purchased or leased. I plan to sell second Fisker purchase for a profit of this vehicle is actually made. The California Mode in the rope Fisker models except the cheaper Sport trim is unique (all windows/sunroof can be opened) will appeal to younger beach/outdoorsy types and is sort of a gimmick but so is the new Ford Bronco style. There seems to be a great deal of doubt this company will get off the ground and produce any significant number of EVs. I have an ID4 but the Fisk Ocean looks better and will perform even better from what I have read. I am sold on EVs regardless of push to transition to electric vehicles to help the environment. I never will buy a gas vehicle again. I was charging my car at a fast charger and spoke to another person who was a CPA who had an ID4. He said the same with no plans to buy another gas vehicle again. EVs are likely much more reliable since only 20 moving parts in an electric motor compared to at least 200 moving parts in a gas engine. Therefore less parts to wear out. No starter, fan clutch, fuel pump, water pump, alternator, timing belt, other belts running compressor, etc need to be replaced. No oil changes or coolant hose leaks. There is coolant for the batteries but hoses not subjected to heat of a gas engine. No exhaust fumes while idling to keep car warm or cold. The heater and AC can be run very efficiently from battery alone instead of wasting heat energy from engine. You could camp in an EV and running AC or heater only decreases battery a fraction over 24 hours compared to gas burned in a gas vehicle. An EV with a heat pump is more efficient except in very cold climates and the Fisker will have a heat pump unlike the ID4 in the US. There is a lot of speculation about battery of EVs degrading and needing replaced after 5 to 10 years but I predict there will be privately owned shops that will do nothing but change out batteries for fraction of cost than the dealer’s cost once EVs out of warranty. You can already watch videos of DIY on KZbin to change out Prius hybrid batteries at a fraction of the cost. The battery of my Volkswagen ID4 is at the bottom of vehicle like most full EVs and could be accessed/dropped down with a car lift then some type of platform lift to lower the battery on. If I was a mechanic I would have a bay set up to change out EV batteries starting in another 3 to 5 years except for Teslas since they refuse to release any technical manuals for their cars and probably always will. Hopefully Fisker will do the opposite and market their vehicles’ battery to be serviceable by privately owned shops (have manuals available) after warranty expires. For consumers to feel like their at the mercy of the dealership when it comes to EVs is a major discouraging factor for those considering buying an EV. Smoother ride, minimal noise from electric motor and respectable acceleration are all characteristics of any EV over $35000. You charge an EV vehicle overnight with 30 to 40 miles per hour if you have a $500 type 2 charger installed at your home which requires a NEMA (240 volt) plug. You do not need a garage to put a type 2 charger since there are many chargers that can be mounted to wall outside home. With my Volkswagen ID4 it includes free fast charging at Electrify America chargers (I have one down street from my home) first 3 years. I recharge if every other day for nothing! I have only spent about $40 for my first 3000 miles. Three times I had to use Charge point charger due to not near a Electrify American charger while on a long road trip which is why I had to pay $40. If you are going to not install a type 2 charger at your home the cost of charging with fast charger in the community is MORE expensive than even gas. For example my Volkswagen ID4 get 2.8 miles/kWh and cost is 43 cents kWh at Electrify America charger in NC. This will cost you about $3.07 to go 20 miles in my ID4. These private company charging stations can alway increase price as gas prices go up and rip you off. If you fast charge at home with a type 2 charger the cost for 20 miles in NC is about 80 cents compared to a car that gets 20 miles a gallon of gas. Only recently has gas cost more than $3/gallon in NC. There is talk of Fisker also offering free charging through Electrify America possibly but no specifics. I find it unlikely Fisker to have all the features as promised for the lower trim versions costing $37499 (Sport Trim) and $49,999 (Ultra Trim). However until they are able to have some descent initial sales (? First 100,000 EVs) for the Fisker Ocean they may keep price what they promised. I read the Fisker Ocean will be built in Austria which seems like a major plus. If there is no increase in price for those trims then certainly better than Volkswagen ID4 models. They have a Fisker Referral program that gives you one point if you reserve a Fisker for $250 and put in a referral code (3VRWP8). This is my referral code. Second order cost just $100. You can only configure your first order at this time and can change it till Fisker will take final order. Current orders under 50000 and likely will get vehicle sometime in 2023 if the Fisker can fill 5000 orders per month which is their target in 2023. This number seems too optimistic. When u use someone else’s referral code u give them one point as well as getting one point as well. The referral code points get you the following free items (2 points gives you a Fisker hat and water bottle - unsure if one or both, 10 points gives you Fisker T-shirt, 20 points gives you Fisker sweatshirt.) Manufacturing of Fisker Ocean starting mid Nov 2022. As of 2/2022 I do not believe they have more than 40000 reservations. As of June 29, 2021 there were only 17,000 preorders which seems like a low number since taking preorders since Fisker started taking orders Nov 2019. However I just heard of this car and I have been looking at different EVs for 2 years so definitely they have not been advertising much. No dealer mark up like other EVs purchased from dealers like Ford, Volkswagen, etc. You purchase it like a Tesla and don’t have to sit down with salesman wearing penny loafers haggling. I do not believe you get any referral points unless you put down someone else’s referral code. Thank you. Referral code 3VRWP8
