Let's talk about the Fist and Rail! This completes are update of the weapon aspects. As you probably noticed, there isn't a lot of variation in the aspects. I think Supergiant has done an amazing job of balancing the weapon aspects for this game. Building up your dodge percentage is actually awesome! A lambent plume keepsake with 26-30% dodge chance plus the Arthur Sword special makes you invisible to Hades' bbq beams at the final battle. No need to hide behind those two thicc pillar thingies anymore ✨

This. I still agree with the ratings generally for the weapons, but rail feels like it's a lot stronger on PC using Mouse and Keyboard than described here. To the point that some friends I know playing on PC have accused the rail of being the game's "easy mode". With that said, if Rail reload is bound to R3 of all things by default...I can see why Rail will definitely have a weaker impression.

Yeah, I play on Mouse and keyboard and never really had the issue he had with the weapon. Easy to aim the special. But even if its better to aim I still find a boring weapon imo.

@@begejekan1244 the special is very fucking strong, put your hammers into the special and give it doom, as for the attack, Artemis or hangover are the best choices. Hangover can stack five times, your attack becomes immediately 5 times as good

Funny imo the Rail is by far the best weapon in Hades. It's so convinvient when you master its handling. Even for beginners this weapon is amazing. I did my first escape with it. Just go for the dyonisus ares duo on atk / cast and the triple shot on aspect if zagreus. Ez mode. Or use zeus on basic at. Idk every boon feels broken on this thing.

The dodge chance of malphon, could be stacked with hermes greater evasion, stacked lambent plume and ruthless reflex dodge to have close to 100% dodge in late game. Aspect of lucifer, if you get triple bomb, u can very quickly cast 6 bombs in succession, which if they all hit a target do 600 base damage, which can easily be boosted to 1k plus with boons.

For me, the witches miniboss fight is probably the game's hardest room outside of the final boss and maybe the enhanced theseus/asterius fight. I love the aspect of talos for how much easier it makes the witches to deal with when they hide over the lava.

I'm glad you mentioned one of the best things about the Lucifer Rail: the fact that it has crazy customization with hammers. If you ask me, the two best ones are the the one that makes you start firing faster, combined with the one that makes your damage ramp up more quickly. But you can take it even further with the great amount of options.

Switching reload to pushing into the left stick is another good option. Your thumb is always on the left stick, and you can buffer the reload to a dash easier.

gotta say one of my favorite things is gilgamesh fists with Athena on the dash and Aphro on the special, possibly with Artemis somewhere (attack probs) for the 2 duo boons if im lucky. you get the damage reduction from weak and the deflects on dash for defense to balance out the damage boost on maime, and you just do crazy damage. You can just utterly ruin EM4.

JP, for Demeter Aspect, you still get 5 hits for the dash-upper when it's charged up. It's kind of finicky but it still works. One of the best combos is to get the hammer that makes your dash-upper explosive and you end up melting anything with 5 explosions plus your boon's effects.

Yeah I think it was either updated or he got it wrong. If anything its even stronger since the base for dash upper is 40 vs upper's 30 twice, so adding 5 times makes its 240 while the upper would be 210

As someone who usually has no issues with looking up online help for games I play: don't spoil yourself too much :-D After over 40 hours and 60 runs, I'm still constantly unlocking new things on so many levels (story, character dialogues, weapon variations, new items, skills, difficulty options, finding new builds, maybe more I'm forgetting rn) and it's so much fun to discover those myself.

One of my best runs with Luci aspect was when I got Demeter's attack boon and a boon that makes fully chilled enemies explode, dealing damage to that foe and everyone around them.

These videos have been very helpful. Been playing since very early access back in... I think it was December or January of 2018? And I still haven't gotten all weapon aspects (I haven't grinded the game too hard yet, don't judge me!), so seeing Lucifer's for example is a pleasant surprise. Seems like the kind of aspect I'd spend time trying to see if I can get an optimal run just for funsies. Yay for theory crafting!

Hey Paul, I'm loving your content on this fantastic game. One thing U wanted to add to what you said, Aspect of Gilgamesh also has a unique rapid dash attack to go with the rapid dashes. So you can just hold down dash and attack and it basically gives you Wolverine's berserker barrage from Marvel vs Capcom. You can absolutely destroy enemies sooo fast by just dashing and attacking around them constantly. It's probably the most fun weapon in the game, imho.

You forget one thing about Lucifer. Your enemy can detonate your special. You don’t have to attack it; it can be attacked. I like to use it as a counter and it’s pretty reliable that way.

I found a fun playstyle with Fist with Aspect of Talos where if you have the mini stun fog, you place it near you then pull enemies near you to stun them then backstab to death.

Aspect of zagreus for the fists is great, especially when you have the lambent plume, because you can focus on getting boons and hammers early in the game instead of chasing max hp

Yeah, there's no way it should be ranked so low. 15% outright damage mitigation? A chance to be missed by really big attacks? Even with just a little Lambent Plume and then Ruthless Reflex, you don't have to worry about getting caught out nearly so much, especially with bosses.

What I love about the Lucifer aspect is that the hellfire orb pulses actually stagger enemies, which can be very helpful given that the basic attack of the rail doesn't do that

Best (looking) combo I've ever got it using magnetic cutter (aspect of Talos) with that poseidon boons that (as you mentioned) special pushes enemies back and the hoon that does more damage throwing enemies into walls. Pin an enemy in a corner and then just repeatedly pull them to you and smash them into the walls. Deal MASSIVE damage and stun lock. Dear god was it GLORIOUS in Styx!

After playing with the fists a bunch the past few days...one thing I realized with the Aspect of Talos is the EZ wallbangs and backstabs you can get with it...If you get an enemy on the other side of a small gap in the map and just Uppercut them, it pulls them into the gap and gives the wallslam bonus plus backstabs over and over and they can't hit you...Its kind of nice

FWIW Fist aspect of zag is really nice with Lambent Plume for keepsake, you can easily stack 50-70% plus dodge in a run esp if hermes gives you 10-20% more along way. Since you are almost always dash striking anyway it means you basically never take damage (can get reflect on dash too and like recovery/sturdy if you want).

My fav daedalus for fists is the one that changes your special into a flying kick that charges toward a nearby enemy. Combine this with an boon that adds a DoT aoe explosion where you land to your special (like hangover or chill) and you can just spam Y, automatically landing kicks on enemies and making an explosion of DoTs on everything nearby. Crowd control king.

On my first time using the aspect of lucifer I beat the secret boss (avoided name to avoid spoiler) after getting the hammer that let's you fire the special 3 times in a row and nothing else, only lost 1 death defiance, fell in love with it right then

Try Athena on Special with Lucifer Aspect. You can very easy make a wall of deflection that wrecks ranged enemies.

So with the firsts the boons you want are zues, Artemis or aries, more so if your going for the cutter, for Aries your going to want the Athena dodge to pair with merciful end. For the rail I like the first and last forms the best, the dps on the attack really outshines the special and works well with a merciful end combo, the damage with lucifer and merciful end can really stack up with the use of the infinite ammo upgrade and the faster fire rate upgrade, you be able to get around 1000 damage per doom trigger

Oh man, am I weird for actually liking R3 for reload? Hahaha. Though, I re-binded my Dash to L1 instead (muscle memory from Gungeon) and felt it was easier to do slide inputs for Dash -> Attack, Dash -> Special, or even slide inputting a Dash -> Reload. I always felt weird about keeping my dash on O, haha. Great video as always, Paul!

As someone that mains the twin fists, the special is great if you are using the damage control condition on the pact of punishment cause it hits twice, and I like to use colossal knuckle (sturdy when attacking/using special) and draining cutter (heal small hp when you kill enemy with special) because you are up close most of the time so you will get hit and the healing is nice

I know it sounds weird but I sometimes remap so that the shoot button is the trigger and the reload as the old attack place because that’s what I’m used to for a shooting weapon.

Zag fist is great if you are running Lambent Plume and are looking to either build high dodge or are new and really want to clear Hades for the 1st time. The free 15% helps give you the cover to focus targets down and start racking up plume buffs, and after Tartarus can basically help you become a snowball. After that just focus on Athena or Zeus buffs for your basic for room clears and you can really start cooking. Also, chaos boons for basic attacks. After that though, Hermes boons for atk speed and dodge make you nuts.

My first completed run was with the Aspect of Eris Rail, and oh boy it was hysterical First I got a hammer upgrade that made my special fire 5 cluster bombs Then I got another upgrade that replaces the normal bombs with ROCKETS So now I'm just dashing all over the place lobbing 5 rockets at a time every couple seconds

Also! Aspect of Eris is great, but DON'T pick up the 300% empowered ticket that can hurt you, or you somewhat lose your ability to boost power (unless you wanna take a ton of damage)

I had a lot of fun using Aspect of Talos with the following boons: Thempest flourish (knockback and extra damage on special) Poseidon Typhoon's Fury (extra damage from knocking enemies into barriers) Poseidon Breaking Wave (watery blast around enemy when they get knocked into barriers) Poseidon On none boss enemies the special pulls enemies towards you and then knocks them away, ideally into a barrier where they then explode and damage other nearby enemies.

Speaking about control bindings. Personally I put dash on my right trigger/R1 and swapped interact to A or Square. Call went to right bumper/R1. Seems like a better setup to me.

The aspect of Lucifer is an S+ for me, somehow it just really works for my play style. If you like to play safe and plan your attack, this weapon is amazing. I’ve had a run where I lost only 15hp to Hades and finished him so quickly at 17 heat level

Anyone else use the grenade on rail as a reload? Just run your clip down to empty, fire the grenade, and the reload timer starts as you're in the animation for the launch. By the time you recover, you have a full clip.

The Aspect of demeter is probably my favorite of all weapons in the game bc if you get the hammer upgrade "Explosive upper:Your Dash-Upper deals +100% damage in an area" it just nukes every single thing in the game, specially with a %bonus dmg on special boon. Its just insta win.

Aspect of Demeter does affect the dash upper. I did a run the other night with explosive upper hammer and it multiplied the amount of explosions

I find that for the Rail, aspect of Zagreus pairs super well with Zeus attack. In fact Zeus attack in general goes great with the Rail for all aspects. For the Gilgamesh fists, how viable do you think an Ares special or attack would pair with it? Sort of like a hit and run strategy to let doom and maimed do the heavy lifting.

I actually play with controller and love the rail. I mapped every single key differently though, to help me have cleaner gameplay. shot on R2, Special on L2, cast on L1 and reload on X. dash is on A. It basically feels like I am playing a shooter game. The only difficould thing was getting used to aim the special, but after 30+ runs it kinda became muscle memory. And I`m picking rockets anyway whenever I find that to be the Daedalus choice.

I feel that the aspect of gilgamesh, yeah the attack does good damage, but there isnt a dash attack with the weapon there is a dash upper but not dash attack

my first escape was with aspect of talos it was very fun I just dash punched everything to death
