There's features for parental locking, so they should be utilized. There can exist both family friendly servers and adult servers and one can easily find both. If parental locking exists, then the said account could not connect to adult rated servers. I want Minecraft to be for everybody, truly, not just for kids. There are possibly as many adults playing Minecraft as there are kids. The approach can be that these are third party servers unaffiliated with Mojang or Microsoft, therefore it does not represent their family friendly approach and you are entering at your own risk (Similar to the previous message we had before). @@obvioustrollthatbaitedyou5036 I'm not denying that Minecraft was already popular before Microsoft picked it up but what is undeniable is that the acquisition by Microsoft led to a change in creative direction and design. Notice how Mojang has intentionally designed the game to be more suitable for children over the last 5 years despite Minecraft's original playerbase consisting largely of older gamers. More colorful blocks are being added with each update. Entire gameplay features such as feeding parrots cookies and frogs eating fireflies are cut out of the design process due to Mojang's concerns that children will try to replicate them IRL. Now specifically there is a chat reporting system that really rubs older players the wrong way because for them Minecraft was one of the last holdovers from an era of the internet where people had near total creative freedom. And I'm not saying that they're right or wrong for this either. What I am trying to say is that given the recent controversies over 1.19 amd 1.19.1, I think it's interesting how Mojang has navigated between catering to Microsoft and to the Legacy players, and quite frankly their navigation of this tense relationship between the corporation they are obligated to work for and the community they feel obligated to design content for is going to determine the future of the game and possibly the gaming industry as well. Out of the success of games like Minecraft and FNAF, indy devs and small dev companies have basically pioneered this grassroots community building for marketing their games, but what they haven't quite figured out yet is how to handle expansion and corporate acquisition after they've cultivated a strong fan community that is heavily invested in their projects.

notch had a good idea for a game, but the other mojang members like jens are more responsible for making it what it is. nobody's acting like he didn't come up with it originally, they're just removing certain references to a guy who has some pretty hateful beliefs.

I really don’t like the things Notch has said, but I feel so bad they removed any references to him entirely. He still created the game, ya know?
@akakios73862 жыл бұрын
Yep, to remove any reference to somebody and effectively alienate him from the product he made simply for an opinion you disagree with is incredibly petty.

iirc he's still credited in the credits screen but i don't think they should've removed every other reference

@@gaynarchist Totally irrelevant, people are allowed to have controversial opinions. Freedom of expression extends even to expression deemed 'offensive,' otherwise there is no freedom, period. Even if an opinion is distasteful, that doesn't make trying to cut someone out of the thing that he made any less petty. Edit: and by the way, I'm not your friend.

"Undocumented" was there because minecraft lacked a manual, but since the game has become so popular and there are tons of tutorials on it, and even in-depth explanations of its mechanics Microsoft removed it. 2nd explanation is that the removal is a joke-it is undocumented why it was removed

I think that "Undocumented" was removed because the game is already documented. In early years the code of the game was undocumented (I think). But with growth of codebase it is very important to document code to maintain it more easily. It is disrespectful for developers to write "Undocumented" in the game they are documented.
