Yep, and my (our) shadow-follow along would have been less fun without the support of two athletes JUST inside the door who figured out what we were doing, and "Stepped Up". They wore grey and black, may not have known each other and became #teamblackandgray. Thanks to the Video... on the left, at 1:27 is Team Black and Gray. Who RRRR they? #teamblackandgray

That would be my sister and I who came out from Seattle :) You know those moments when you think to yourself “I totally just ran up those stairs like a boss! I wonder if anyone saw that?” Well on that morning the doors to the right opened up and I realized “Oh GOD!! They ARE watching! Better make this plank look f**ing majestic. Also, damn you Laura for so many squats!” Glad everyone had so much fun. DFTBA!

am i the only one who notices the small things that this channel does to show recognition for the muslim community? like how one of the camera people is a muslim woman, and how they chose a young muslim teen to answer some of these questions. my sister even pointed out in one of the videos that john has a painting in his basement of a woman, who was wearing the hijab, flexing her muscles. which is pretty awesome. i mean i know that to most it's really not a big deal, and objectively it probably isn't. But at a time like this, when my community is blamed and ridiculed by our very own president, the seemingly insignificant gestures are the most important.

One thing I absolutely love about this video is seeing the body diversity in this workout. I hate when you only see a handful of body types portraying exercise, and it's amazing to see all different shapes and sizes of people working out together and sharing this space together in this collective investment in personal health. Does my heart proud.

Hey John... I know 100 days is basicly over, but is there any way we could get a workout shirt/ outfit that doesn't have F*cking? on it? even if it just says "100 days" on it. I really want to support this awesome inititive (which was the only KZbin channel I had notifications turned on for!) but even having a sensored word on my clothing isn't going to work for me. I'm not saying take the F*cking Majestic shirt off the site... but maybe add something else?

Hey guys, I love this community and I love the support y’all show to each other, as a non-commenting subscriber I thought I’d reach out to you guys from some advice. I recently went to a counsellor for some ongoing mental health problems as the request of my girlfriend. I don’t handle stress very well and use some less than healthy coping mechanisms to get by. The counsellor said how I could start on a program of meditation to change my brain and thinking patterns but I’m uncertain. I’ve dabbled in meditation in the past to mixed results, and watching John’s experience with meditation hasn’t exactly filled me with confidence that it will help me. So I wanted to ask if you guys think I should continue with the counsellors meditation program or if I should try to find an alternative solution. Any replies would be of great help!

Meditation is definitely something that can take a lot of practice and experimenting. I recommend looking at a few different methods for meditation and trying them for a while before giving up on the whole thing entirely. That being said, it may not be for everyone, so it's not a personal failing on your part if you find that it just isn't clicking for you. For me specifically, I have found that counting down from 100, and then 50, and then 30 and just focusing on counting and breathing has been the only thing that really works to get me into a meditative state.

smileydude64s hello! I'm not a medical expert or anything so I can only talk from personal experience but personally meditating has helped me a lot. I do it every morning ( well, I have missed a few mornings if I was sick etc.) and it feels like quieting the chaos that's usually in my mind, getting some order and clarity, refocusing myself. And then, when stressful or emotionally difficult situations arises, not only am I better prepared so I handle them better, but if they do become overwhelming I can just go somewhere quiet for a few minutes do an emergency meditation session and then get back to the situation calm and ready to face it. So I would definitely recommend it. I see it as exercise for your brain/mind. But of course, except for water and oxygen, there is nothing that works on everyone on the planet so if after keeping at it for a while you feel it doesn't work for you, then you should talk about it to your counsellor and see if there's something else you could try. Just a tip though: give it your all even if you're not convinced and keep at it for a while to get comfortable. Then you'll see if it works or not. In the beginning I was uncomfortable with it: I would giggle. I also fell asleep a couple of times. And then I got anxious while doing it that I wasn't doing it right ("wait, should I visualize my body's movement as I breathe in and out or just focus on the feeling of it! Argh I'm thinking and losing my focus again!"). So yes, like anything it's not easy and doesn't show results from the get go. But it is incredibly worth it in my opinion.

smileydude64s If this particular meditation strategy isn't working for you don't give up hope. Maybe your counselor can suggest some modifications. In my case, many meditations techniques are useless because I just can't visualize, and many techniques require imagining yourself somewhere. I can think about the concept of a beach or a forest, but trying to picture it gives me a headache and I end up more frustrated. The meditation/self-hypnosis technique that finally worked for me was one that focused almost entirely on how my muscles felt, and then slowly relaxing them one part of my body at a time. I use it regularly to fall asleep, and it helps with the can't fall asleep and then can't get out of bed in the morning problem that often accompanies depression. I've found with practice that I can also use it to calm myself in other situations as long as I can find somewhere to sit down for a couple minutes (I usually start with my feet and calves, and if I relaxed them while standing, I would fall over lol). The point of this ramble is that maybe when you're done your daily meditation, take a minute to reflect on what isn't working for you. If you can be more specific, it might help you or your therapist come up with some alternatives.

I was really hoping the interviews with Nerdfighters from NerdCon: Nerdfighteria would provide some contrasting experiences to what John and Chris did during the run of the show. Mostly because 100 days seemed to lack any sense of moderation in the changes that were made. The workouts were SO intense and the dietary changes seemed drastic. I hoped that would be represented in the comments from Nerdfighters. I'm happy for John, Chris and all the Nerdfighters who have benefited from the show, but I'm disappointed with how slanted it is toward intensity over moderation.

Was thinking the same thing... but then I figured that maybe there were no men that wanted to talk on camera (if you look at some of the footage there aren't many dudes in the class so smaller chance of getting one after/before class when they filmed this section). Most men just don't seem to be in the exercise class demographic, which is silly since they are fun.

As one of those people I'm sad you feel this way! The target demographic of this was far and wide, and the testimonials are just a small subsection of people who volunteered to be involved. There 100% were other people like you who followed along. Plus...nothing is wrong with being an outlier. I still feel like one just because I didn't accomplish physically what everyone else did. At the same time, NerdCon had a specific demographic, and within that was another (relatively) small demographic able or willing to go the morning exercise session. We're looking through a very small lens here so who knows where we all truly lie in this world of 100 days.
