A wee tip, when i fitted my bumper i put wiring grommets into the 3 holes and didn't overtighten the nuts when fitting the bumper, less metal to metal rubadub and a wee smidgen of waxoil under there completes the fight against rust! 20 years on and its all good!

Excellent tip and makes absolute sense. I'll get hold of some grommets and carryout this little modification. Thanks buddy

A useful edition with some good info for others on your mods. Let’s hope you never need to use it 👍

A rubber spacer sounds like a better idea!

i would go and buy a 1Ton sling (lifting tool, purple) of 1 meter in length. put that trough the towing eye in an U shape and then put the carbine hook on it. that way you would not damge the bumper or need to dismantle it.

I have a purple 1 tonne sling in the boot. Never thought to try that so I'll see how it fits when I'm next off
