Fitting a towing eye to an Austin mini

A wee tip, when i fitted my bumper i put wiring grommets into the 3 holes and didn't overtighten the nuts when fitting the bumper, less metal to metal rubadub and a wee smidgen of waxoil under there completes the fight against rust! 20 years on and its all good!

I used a thickish rubber as a spacer on my bumpers think i got that tip of dave jag 🤷‍♂️ 👍👍

A rubber spacer sounds like a better idea!

i would go and buy a 1Ton sling (lifting tool, purple) of 1 meter in length. put that trough the towing eye in an U shape and then put the carbine hook on it. that way you would not damge the bumper or need to dismantle it.

I have a purple 1 tonne sling in the boot. Never thought to try that so I'll see how it fits when I'm next off
