Fitting an electric fuel pump to defender 300tdi || Also one job lead to another

I ended up rewiring the dashboard on my Land rover defender to fit an electric fuel pump. I could find much info online on where in the system to put the electric fuel pump so this is my attempt.

More worryingly i put them on the way they came off, means that pump may not have ever worked. Paint is definatly in the future along with new bull bars. I need cooler weather for both. Could barely think enough for editing this week

Thanks I'm going to be doing this job as my pump failed (what a surprise). Interesting that you place it after the lift pump Most have it before and nearer the tank?

Hi thanks for the video. I did the same on my land rover I mean just the fuel pump it worked to start but stopped cause carburettor got flooded and leaked petrol. Have I missed something? Thanks

I have a diesel engine and don't have a carb, it is likely float chamber the pump is likely over powering the float or the float is stuck open and therefore the pump can just push fuel into the engine

@@benabedabdennour9878 checking the float and making sure its not stuck open or that it still floats, i don't know what the land rover one is made of but old foam floats used to degrade and not stop fuel coming into the carb, it could also could have a bit of muck in it if you have been playing with the system. don't play with the jets unless you know what you are doing. although if you have changed them it could be the reason it floods. Let us know how it goes
