🇦🇺😎👍I was wondering about those stocks . I’ve got a Howa 243 / 223 varmint rifles ( both have fired under 300 rds since new ) . Both rifles have Hogue rubber over flexible fore ends. Mate what is the difference in weight between the old Hogue and the new MDT stock ?… They say these are sub moa rifles but I don’t seem to have this with mine . One has a 16 power variable scope and the other has a 20 power variable so the sight picture is magnified enough. While I don’t use super premium ammo or reloads yet I do use common brands and only seem to achieve 1” / 1 - 1/2 groups @100 yards.. . I thought perhaps the stock was letting the rifles down. Keep in mind I have achieved 1/2 groups with other rifles ( so I’m not just a crook shot 🤣) so being varmint rifles perhaps I just expect too much ? …While I’m not overly worried, they are still good enough for shooting out the window of a truck in the paddock.

Those HOGUE stocks are fine. They’re pillar bedded, so just make sure everything is tightened down to spec, including scope rings and bases. Consistent reloads with what powder/charge/projectile the rifle likes will make a difference. If it’s hunting accuracy you’re after, it will all come together. As far as weight goes, the new stick has added a little bit (it us noticeable), but not enough to be an issue, as these sort of things aren’t really meant as a “walk-around” rifle.

I think you can get a 5-shot, but I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t investigated that as yet.
