I was wondering if wheel spacers could be used to widen the track on the front and rear axles? If so that would really stabilize the tractor.
@HomesteadingUncontained2 жыл бұрын
I would love to find wheel spacers here in France - they are easily available and cheap in the US but here it is difficult to find (other than shipping from the US which is horrendous pricing. The front do not need them as they are on a swivel axel (I have been told).

Hello from Knoxville Tennessee USA I’ve never been to the Pyrenees mountains, but we do have a Great Pyrenees named Winston. So I guess that makes us neighbors!

Just an additional, I keep seeing that lovely classic Renault 4 behind you.......a pal had one in Cyprus it was fun and cheap to run. In the early 70's I was lucky enough to get a drive in the 4x4 Sinpar version, amazing where it would go on those skinny little tyres.

I have to finish welding the new floor in - once that is done we will be using it as the build truck (with a tiny trailer). It is such a great little car.

I could not find too much info on this tractor model - but I do like it and it works great for us. 👍🏻

Glad to see the roll bar install! I use mine religiously on my Kubota. I have a L3560 which is kind of a tall narrow tractor to begin with. If you don’t have a seat belt you should with a roll bar. I was told once that if you don’t have a roll bar you don’t want a seat belt so you can jump off the tractor if it starts to flip, but if you have a roll bar you want a seat belt so you don’t end up under the roll bar when it flips. I don’t know how true that is but it sounded good to me. Another thing if your rear tires aren’t “loaded” that isn’t helping stability. We have to use beet juice (rim guard) because it doesn’t freeze and isn’t as corrosive as calcium chloride. Not sure how cold it gets where you are but if it doesn’t freeze you could get away with using water. I’ve also used non toxic RV antifreeze or windshield washer fluid. Anyways keep up the good work! Really enjoying your videos. We’re working on a homesteading/produce selling stand project of our own.

Cheers and your comments are really welcome - I just fitted the seat belt to my mini excavator and now will do the same on the Kubota - just need to figure out a fixed point. Thank you so much for watching.

Nice job! Does seem tall but it certainly won’t roll over.

Check tire (heights ), they varying heights causes tractor to lean
@HomesteadingUncontained8 ай бұрын
The tires are OK but I would love a wider flat profile tire but they are difficult to find for this rim.

Seems to me Ian the rop is high enough without the fold up top 'up' tbh. if it can go on the other way round it would lean forward a little bringing overhead protection more overhead so to speak. Make a topbar to use pln holes, also personally id be more confident with a diagonal brace too.

In my next video, I do something very similar to what you have said. But I may give it ago on turning it around to face forward too. Thank you for your comments.

I have a Kubota B1902D and my ROPS which came fitted to the tractor when purchased from the company JPFrance and it looks nothing like yours. I still have the rear shelf and mine is a lot lower than yours, I can also unmount mine by simply removing 4 bolts which takes 2 mins.
@HomesteadingUncontained2 жыл бұрын
Believe me, I am not over the moon with this one - it is a unit they fabricate themselves but as you saw, it is definitely not a bolt on - see my next video as I do modify it a little.

Just remember that when you get to put into the garage you will have to lower your bar
@HomesteadingUncontained2 жыл бұрын
hahaha, yes. I am only putting it up when I go to the build site at the moment - but yes, that would be embarrassing taking out my garage doors. 🤣

How’s the mini tractor holding up so far? Any issues with the Japanese old tractor?
@HomesteadingUncontained Жыл бұрын
It is going great - best buy we have ever made. Bought locally and we use it daily.

Has to be the wrong ROPS for that tractor
@HomesteadingUncontained2 жыл бұрын
Not the wrong one - it is a 40 year old machine and this roll bar was fabricated from where it came from but does fit a myriad of machines - as I say, I am not thrilled with it but I have modified it in the next video.

With animals thing...I suppose that you are in a country where things are done 'by the book'.....we had a couple of sheep and a goat, when it came time to slaughter, we asked a local, who was known for slaughtering. He came round tied the sheep up, then proceeded to bash their brains in with a lump hammer and cut throats. He was cheap, he skinned and cut them up into quarters. etc. If you are squeamish...send them to a slaughterhouse...it will cost a lot more, but you won't get all the blood splashes all over you. (note: if they don't die from the first blow they make a hell of a racket I didn't even know that sheep can scream!!! (wife look away now and cover ears).

hahaha - it is not too bad here. We have a friendly butcher over at our local supermarket that has said he will take car of things - Chickens will be on us though. Anything bigger, I don't want to take the risk of messing it all up.
@Pinzpilot1012 жыл бұрын
@@HomesteadingUncontained We don't actually eat our chickens (thought the idea of keeping them is that if we have to one day - then we do already have them. We eat the plentiful eggs and even sell some on.........it just feels more 'farmyardy'......with the chickens out and about in the paddock and orchard. I'm going to try Cider Making next year.
