Well spotted. The anonymity of the location has been thwarted!

@@Rust_in_Time Ha, lived down the road in Gladesville for many years. Hunters Hill is a beautiful location for filming the delightful Triumph!

Which country ? California pos South Africa? Def not UK as the lovely Triumph is in such good condition. They did like to rust.

@@russellnixon9981 It’s Australia and the car is one of 500 Triumph 12/50s made here by Australian Motor Industries. It's one of 3 left in roadworthy condition!

@@Rust_in_Time Thanks for that, looks a beautiful place to live. Didn't know there was such green and leafy parts. The only images of Australia we in the UK are of deserts mountains and beaches.

Hi The taper on the first hub you put on looked knackered also there were spline marks on it. That means the wheel nut has been wacked on too hard and the taper on the wire wheel hub has spread That will work loose. I own a 1936 Riley Falcon with exactly the same arrangement. With exactly the same problems!

The thread on the hub isn't actually as bad as it looked in the video, it was caked in old grease at that stage but I've cleaned them up and applied new since then. Which are the spline marks you mention?
@johnclay48112 жыл бұрын
@@Rust_in_Time Hi the spine marks are on the start of the taper on the hub. The only fix is to get a new hub on the axle and get a new hub respoked into the wheel. Try jacking the car up put the handbrake on then see if you can move the wheel. Very lightly grease the splines but not the taper. There are inner and outer tapers on the wheel nut that locate on the front of the hub look for wear in the nut it could well be bottoming out through knackered tapers . The only fix there is a new nut. It only works if you replace the whole lot , the nut and the two hubs. It all depends on usage. Is there a clunk when you change direction in the car? That is worn splines. Keep checking that the wheels are still firm by jacking the car up on the first few outings and see how you go. Better to be safe than sorry! Cheers
