Big Win for the chefs and owners of these restaurants and big win for Colorado!

Wait, Annette's didn't get 1 Michelin star?! That's a joke. It has multiple James Beard nominations (including Best New Restaurant 2018) & finally won Best Chef Mountain West in 2022. Not to mention other accolades. It should have been included; Aurora is a suburb of Denver.

You have to request Michelin to send an inspector which is an incredibly long process. So perhaps they didn't request an inspector to come by and just expected one to randomly show up, or they didn't request for one to come by until sometime after the other restaurants did. I mean, it's a worldwide restaurant guide, so there is scheduling and inspecter management so it could be difficult to randomly add another potential resturant for inspection after you already scheduled your inspectors reservations, hotels, flights, etc. The good news behind all of this is that Colorado is now on the map for Michelin (Which is a miracle in itself) and a high quality culinary scene , so I am sure Annette's time will come! What would be tragic is if Annette's went out of business before Michelin came in, but given the nominations and awards Annette's has earned, that isn't very likely so patience is key.

Aurora is not a suburb of Denver. It is the third largest city. Michelin declined to include Aurora in its guide. Please go back one month and Kyle Clark covered the story.

@@DuskyJewel Initial reply didn't post. Google 'Aurora suburb of Denver' & you'll get hits from 8z Real Estate, MapQuest, Westword, & Encyclopaedia Britannica. Consider informing them they're wrong. I'm not having that debate. Oakland is a city, across the Bay from San Francisco, & it has Michelin rated restaurants. It's the 8th largest city in CA. Also some cities like Boston aren't willing to pay the price required to participate in Michelin. James Beard rankings are respected & adequate within the US. World's 50 Best Restaurants (though they rank 100) serves a similar purpose internationally. There isn't an easy way to search for what you referred to. Provide the title. I only found an article from August of 2023 & was already familiar w/ that info.

Hummm…$130k annually for the next three years to Michelin for them to come to review restaurants…I didn’t know that city had to BUY Michelin reviews… No wonder why Michelin star reviews are garbage…the best restaurant review money can buy….

Restaurants don’t pay, city tourism boards pay. Running the guide isn’t free.

@@person35790, my point still stands. Now, after I read their quarterly & annual reports. They don’t need money from cities to ran their guide…it is ran almost as “hobby” for Michelin as whole anyways… I also understood why Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto have so many Michelin star restaurants…I wouldn’t call the guide “Standard” by any stretch of imagination… They are simply just “French cuisine inspectors” nothing more and less…

@@person35790, my point still stands. L.A. paid $600k to get their restaurants reviewed by Michelin. “ Michelin is a corporation and they will do whatever it takes to satisfy its shareholders and that is all. As for Michelin Guide under Michelin has been losing money year after year…. Therefore, someone at the board of directors level will exploit the review…eventually or already happening… Credible guide should never be “paid” to be reviewed. Yelp was decent until it started to exploit businesses to pay for higher ranking. Maybe the best review now is “Google Review”. Anyhow, now I know why Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto have so many Michelin star restaurants…they literally paid for them to come to review…
