I'm married to a Navy vet with severe PTSD. The pain we go through every day that was inflicted 25 to 30 years ago is devastating. I don't think anyone who hasn't been there can comprehend war. He's 100% disabled from the PTSD. This is the real cost of your freedom. The real menace of war. The young man in orange spoke the truth. There is never any truth in it. Thank you for this review. The video, and song is incredibly powerful for my family.

I take care of older gentlemen in assisted care facilities. One man couldn't even read his newspaper, because his body naturally sways back and forth. That man witnessed uncountable death, and probably caused a good bit himself. Coming back home knowing that there's a mother in the country you left getting that message that her son is dead and you were the one to do it. You've got proud family members and you couldn't feel dirtier. It's a strange limbo they're left in.

It must be awful dealing with that and you most likely don't get any help from the government so medical bills keep adding up. He went to war for your government NOT your freedom and your government just forgot about him, it's a disgrace. The Gulf War was between Iraq and Kuwait, how did that threaten your freedom in any way? Americans are brainwashed into thinking everyone is trying to take your freedom. When 911 happened was your freedom threatened in any way? Sorry for the mini rant with what you're going through but Americans need to realise that your freedom is very rarely threatened. Nobody says Freedom more than Americans

Thank u so much for reacting to this song!!!! My husband is currently serving in the US Army....22 yrs and counting....and suffers from PTSD from all the times as he has been deployed. It's hard to see him go thru it. Everyone thinks the government takes care of vets and active duty war fights but you would shocked how horrible things can be sometimes. Healthcare is horrible, the perks of being in the service is dwelling, and some weeks he makes less than min. wage with all the hrs he puts in. But neither one of us regrets him serving. He defends us and I'm so proud of him

This song hits me hard every time. I am a disabled veteran, 15 Years in the Army spent a few tours in Iraq and was there in Iraq in 2003 during that initial push. I suffer from PTSD, Anxiety and depression and cant work anymore. Its sad to see how Veterans are treated now a days. My father is also a veteran of the Army and did time in Vietnam. He also suffers from PTSD and has Parkinson's due to his subjection to the Agent Orange they used over there. Vietnam vets got treated even worse than the rest of us have. We loose 22 veterans a day to suicide. That's 22 to many. I was almost one of them. I cant enjoy the one most favorite thing I loved as a kid, Fireworks on fourth of July. Lots of others are even worse. If your a Vet and are struggling please get help some how some way. Talk to someone, anyone. You are worth more than you know. Thank you to all fellow veterans for your service.

My Uncle fought front lines of Vietnam and carried with him a lifetime of injuries, illnesses, and emotional/mental effects. The stories he told me, and the way the veterans of that war were treated when they arrived back home was sickening. Sadly, it's only gotten moderately better in younger generations. My boyfriend is a veteran and has lost 3 friends to suicide after leaving the service. We have to do better! Thanks for reacting to this guys!

@@missyterry9930 @Heather Terry Your father has my thanks for his service, sorry he had to go through all that and may he rest in peace. It's awkward thanking Vets sometimes, since I know some Vets hate being thanked for "Just doing their Duty/Job", so I usually just thank them once then/or just treat them like I would anyone else. My dad was 1st ID in the late 90's with a few sandbox tours in the 2000's, I know he also did some NATO peacekeeping in Kosovo and maybe Bosnia. Being in the Balkans during the 90's conflicts(If you know, you know)its quite possible he saw some stuff, but he walked out before I was a toddler and the few times we talk he's never brought it up. All he's said is don't join the military, which I'd wanted to do when younger. Between the family connection and growing up next to a major Army base most of my life, I grew up to be a pretty patriotic person. Some of the things that've been done to Veterans, and the stuff they've had to go through for no reason is criminal IMO. Might write a second, longer comment on that. I know people care, but that doesn't mean they wanna hear a rant on it. If I do I'll start it with a (2). Anyways, have a good day and hope things are going alright.

I went to a treatment center in 1991 with gulf war vets and Vietnam vets. One guy said he was picking up his luggage off of a carousel at an airport and got spit on cuz he was uniform. Thanks guys! I enjoy watching you listen to all kinds of music! "There but for the grace of God go I" I was homeless living in my old pickup truck after I got out my first tour of 5 years active. I was living near the beach so it wasn't all bad. Things were hard for a while, I eventually found low paying work and went back into the reserves to help pay for school and other expenses. Eventually got my BSBA (MIS) at a cheap state school, I got a job in tech after that for many years and eventually retired out of the Army Reserves, still working in tech. Turned 60 recently and started collecting my retirement pay - not much but it helps. I started Tricare this year, not sure how that is going to work out, it seems not too many doctors offices take the insurance, initial appointments are 3 months out, but it's cheaper than my work insurance. I had good times and bad times, but I'm proud of myself for sticking it out and finishing up my 21 years no matter how much I didn't like most of it. I'm kind of a rebel, and it was hard to go along to get along a lot of times and conform where I had to to stay out of trouble. I'm not sure I would do it again, especially in this environment, but it can be a way to a better life - for some, that is if they don't get you killed. I lost many friends along the way. RIP. I served in the United States Army Infantry for 5 years and I fought in Iraq from 2004-2005. I can't speak for other Veterans, but I myself hates it when a civilian tries to salute me or calls me a hero. Just stick with the line where you say "thank you for your service." Even when someone thanks me for my service I don't always know how to answer them because I was doing my job and getting paid to do it from American tax payers. When I went to fight in Iraq I wasn't doing it for the money or because I thought it was right. I was fighting there because I was ordered to and I was fighting for the men in my unit or as I would call them "my brothers."

My father is a Vietnam veteran. He responds with "Thank you for being an American worth fighting for." I think it's because for years after coming home, Vietnam vets were spit on, cussed out, called baby killers, etc. There was so much hatred towards them. To him it's refreshing, even all these years later, to hear someone thank him instead of hurling insults toward him. Just something to think about.

Im so glad you all are allowing us to see your growth. It was obvious by the title alone, there was skepticism in listening to this song. As a female Veteran and number 23...FFDP and a lot of other rock song lyrics resonate. Keep up the good work. P.S. dobt start another organization go out ad do some volunteering with established groups.

I know a marine who lost both his legs to an IED. He parked his truck in a handicapped spot and was reaching behind his seat to get his wheelchair out. Someone gave him a dirty look and made comments about him parking in a handicapped spot, even though he had a tag and was uses a wheelchair. This behavior is unacceptable. To anyone who reads this, and you served, THANK YOU!

Disabled Vet here, and everytime I see this video I tear up and thank God that I was fortunate enough to get the help that I needed. Returning to Civilian life, especially after being in Combat can be one of the hardest transitions a person will ever have to make. A lot of us don't know how to socialize anymore, or we can't hold jobs or we feel alone because nobody understands us. For every Veteran out there... It is a Hard road but please reach out to the VA and get yourself taken care of. I know there are a lot of horror stories... But there are some truly amazing people out there that will go above and beyond to get you the help that you need and deserve.

This track and the video are our wake up call to all vets that we as civilians have to do better by them. They fought for us, bled for us, died for us, just so we can act like assholes. We owe them and we have failed them. We have to do better by them. We as a people and a nation need to get them the help they need. Phycological for ptsd/ shell shock and reintegration into civilian life, job placement and training to let them move on with their lives. And most importantly, let them know we have their backs as they had ours and they are never alone. Never forget

This video always makes me cry, it's so powerful and I love how they're bringing to light one of the many problems our country is dealing with and how we're failing those that sacrificed their lives so that we can live freely. Great song and video. ❤️ Under and Over It is another great well known song by them.

saw these guys live with bad wolves and breaking benijamin. Five Finger Death Punch killed it and was the best of the night. During this song though...I Had a vet who could bench press me very emotional with this song, right before we ran the best mosh pit of the night. (hint im 6'6" and not thin) This song hits so hard for so many vets. Thank you out there if you serve. Some of us do know you give it all and need so much more from us to help back

The first few times I watched this video.. I could do nothing but cry through it. My tears were for brothers who didnt come home from Afghanistan, for their wives and children, and for the world that is emptier without them. Im fortunate enough to have a home and people who love me.. But there are too many Vets who have noone, and very little or no help. So please.. Donate to Homes for Our Troops, Wounded Warrior Project, or any of the number of charities listed at the end of this video. Thanks fellas.

I just seen Five Finger Death Punch live for the first time and they are great at saluting out veterans past and present. I've been a huge fan of them for a long time. I recommend watching some of their live performances and if what Ivan Moody does and says regarding our veterans gives me goosebumps everytime. He's a genuinely good dude who truly cares about our vets and the fight against cancer. God bless our veterans!

This is a song my husband wanted me to listen too. He served 43 years in Canadian Forces, diagnosed with extreme PTSD. He worked alongside some amazing American soldiers. He is doing well today, lots of difficult roads. The hardest thing is the lack of appreciation and understanding of what many of our soldiers sacrifice. He is still first in line to support a vet when he sees someone on need. Thanks.
