I don’t know why this was recommended to me... I’m a college student still living at home, no kids, don’t have to worry about cooking or spending money on groceries, but I still watched the whole thing. Very very insightful! In Quebec we make a variation of shepherd's pie (called pâté chinois) and its basically just a layer of seasoned hamburger, a corn layer (2 cans of kernel corn+a can of creamed corn) and a layer of mashed potatoes. Then you throw it in the oven for a while until the top of the potatoes is roasted. I don't know what the exact recipe is but it's pretty good!

How would this be done to reduce gas from beans? I have less gas from black beans than kidney or pinto. But I have a crock pot I've been looking for recipes to be cooking as I'm at work, so my kids can grab food when they come in after school. I work mid shift so it's right amount of time for things to be cooked by 4pm. Then I cook again for after the after school activities. I feed my kids alot and they're thin bc they do alot of activities. My oldest and middle were cross country track, my oldest and youngest were on golf team and Explorers with Travis County ESD #1 in TX. Oldest and Middle have joined the military and I'm not sure if youngest will too? I'm trying to get the kids into college. I buy everything on sale. I wondered about these cookers. I have multiple 6 or 8 qt crock pots can I cook these recipes in that? Does there need to be any mods on the recipes to use crock pots? I wanted to thank you for posting these recipes. I'm going to send them out to women in my church. I'm glad to be able to pass great recipes to save people's time to be spent with their kids.

At Walmart, in the bulk section (giant cans of cheese sauce, ketchup, PB, etc.) You can get a container of Ortega taco seasoning, that's the same size of the Garlic and Onion spice containers you showed in the first recipe. It less than $5. It is extremely more economical than the packets, and cheaper than mixing your own in that bulk quantity. I have been buying them for years.

I have a chicken and dumplings recipe that makes it super easy and my kids love it You cook you chicken n the broth the same, then get some can biscuits you can get a pack of four for a dollar, quarter those up and throw them in the pot. Add your seasoning, then I get some can veggies or frozen, mixed or corn or what ever, throw that in the pot. When the veggies are done it’s done, serve with biscuits or cornbread. Super tasty

Your crazy crust pizza looks yummy, the recipe is very similar to a classic dish here in England called "toad in the hole". No actual toads involved I promise, it's a batter like you made (sans pepper and Italian herbs) with whole sausages placed on top so they cook as the batter puffs up around them. Must be served with thicc gravy, it's the rules 😁

To make my taco soup or you can of kidney beans a can of corn and a can of diced tomatoes with the little green chilies pound of hamburger meat and taco seasoning to taste. Don’t drain anything leave all the liquid and it takes about 15 minutes on the stove. Are usually put mine in a crockpot and I cook it all day and I use extra meat cause I make it more of a stew than soup and extra seasoning.

I just made the pizza crust today and it was delicious! My parents thought it was really good. I kept it in the oven for 5 minutes with the sauce and cheese on and maybe I should have kept it in a tad longer. My dad got 2-3 slices. I was worried it would be crispy as I don't like crispy pizza when I saw a lot of browning, but it wasn't at all. Very soft. It's definitely a keeper for me for recipes to make on a regular basis.

Cheese goes on sale at least once every 3 months for $1.15-1.50 per 8ounces. Freeze the cheese, doesn’t matter for dishes you bake. Eggs 🥚, when they go on sale for $.50-.77 a dozen freeze them. This works best with a freezer that is a stand-alone. When veggies are going to be cooked, chop them up and freeze them when super cheap. Lots of videos show you how to do it the right way. When meat is at a rock bottom price and you are going to put it in your freezer ask meat clerk if they have still frozen chubs/packages of meat. Freezing, Thawing, freezing.... changes taste. Just some thoughts. Also for a super cheap tasty dinner google Tightwad Gazette lentil casserole recipe, feeds 4. Less than $2 if ingredients are bought at low prices, that includes using brown rice.

In this part of the country - Eastern Pennsylvania - (PA Dutch Country!) your chicken and dumplings we call Chicken Pot Pie. We also put carrots in it, and sometimes potatoes. Your chicken pot pie is just chicken pie here, although sometimes it's chicken corn pie, if we add corn. And milk! Always milk to make it creamy! Finally, chicken and dumplings here is when we take that dumpling dough, and literally just gob it by spoonfuls into the pot, making these yummy, beautiful little clouds of dough that cook in the broth and just taste heavenly. Do you have that there? If you do, what do you call it? It's delicious!

My grammy was part Cherokee and she used to make what her mom called Indian dumplings. They are similar to what you have there but she added half self rising flour and added some eggs in place of some of the water and they were amazing. You can make them a little thinner and and spoon them in like a drop dumpling or make them a little stiffer like what you did and roll them out. The egg adds a super rich flavor to the dumplings.

Mix them together with a small amount of flower, and a little bit of finely chopped onion. Add any seasoning you want. Fry it in a pan stirring until it's got the consistancy of a very thick chowder. It's delicious and you can add all kind of things to it like bacon, chives, i bet tomatoes would taste good in it.

Easy rice. Heat pan with a splash of oil.Melt 4Tbs butter. Pour in 1 cup of dry rice, stir to coat well. Pour in 2 cups of hot water, slowly. Stir and bring to boil. Turn down to simmer, and cover pan. Let it bubble 20 min. Check to see if it is done. If it's not done cover back up and turn it off. Let the heat Finnish it. Brown rice requires more water and more time. You can use broth or bullion when cooking. I sometimes add onion and celery with the butter before I add the rice. And you can add cooked meat , beans or veggies.

We don't eat the same meals in Argentina but it's quite interesting how influenced by Mexican cuisine you are. In Argentina we don't really do spicy foods. I love your work. Thank you.

Love your cooking. I actually have used some of these ideas, but under different names. The pizza crust is actually Yorkshire Pudding batter, maybe you have added a little more flour so it's not so "eggy". I'll try your recipe. I've made your dumplings, except it was a recipe for homemade noodles. They were in chicken noodle soup, with drop baking powder dumplings that puffed up like bread inside. Can't wait to try your recipes, and catch more videos.

Hi! Pizza looks so good! I think your batter is the same as a Yorkshire pudding batter in the UK then we bake them in a muffin tin

Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed Yorkshire Pudding on tour with the Salvation Army. Just that I had it on every stop. It's been years now so I can eat it again if I find a recipe.

I have a Yedi electric pressure cooker, and all the Instant Pot accessories work perfectly in it, even though the manufacturer issues the usual caveat---"Do Not Use Accessories Meant for Other Pots!" But Yedi doesn't make any accessories, so yeah, IP ones work great. Love, love, love that pot!!!

I grew up eating creamed corn as a side dish on it's own, usually with polish sausage (add milk/cream and salt n pepper while heating it, that's it, so delicious 😊)

Add a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch powder time your taco soup. It amps up the flavor so much!

Renee Allen I do the Taco Soup in the crockpot all the time with the Hidden Valley packet but use diced up beef stew meat. The recipe I use includes 6oz of beer which adds a different flavor level. I don’t always use beer in the recipe but it’s pretty good even without. Especially tasty the next day!!

Thank you! Just a share...In the South we add tiny potatoes to everything from meat to pasta. I have a picante/salsa food processor (maybe 10.00 at Walmart) that dices carrots, celery, peppers, and potatoes so fine that the nutrients are in the recipe but not really visible. I use it for all my recipes and for soups, beans, spaghetti, hamburgers, etc. It keeps nutrition UP and food cost DOWN! Just another thought for saving on food bills. Thank You for the video!

Cream of corn - we put it in corn chowder with some frozen kernel corn and use it shepherd's pie (our area call it Chinese pie which is called that because of mispronunciation from Quebec) I also sometimes use cram corn in corn muffins.

I think it's funny to change "Breakfast Tacos" into a *Dinner* thing... since it started out a DINNER thing that McDonalds turned into a BREAKFAST thing. Either way... they're good.

I make lasagna with lentil to stretch the beef ragu and use a white sauce instead of cheese. I actually think its an American thing to make it with all the cheese as white sauce.

Love using either leg quarters or split bone in chicken breast for any type of chicken soup! I have used a whole chicken BUT it's not quite as convenient :/ However it really is only a few extra minutes if it's not frozen. One thing I've found really helps save my grocery budget is to only commit myself to making 2-3 meals a week (for dinner) and then with those just make enough to last 2-3 days. Hamburger soup, chili, BBQ chicken or yes even pork. There's tons of things that actually get better if they sit in the fridge for a day or 2.

You need to try REALLY CHEAP Gnocchi.... potato dumplings. or Kluesse.. So inexpensive... nd any broth boiled in instead of just water... is a plus. Then the water is thicker for a different soup or broth to cook down for a gravy another day.
