I always heard the Naqshabandis practiced silat. Nice to finally see it. I was more familiar with seeing Bapak Willem De Thuouars' silat before, so this was great. Well, and Pendekar Maul Mornie's system. Oh, and the Silat styles of Iko Uwais, Cecep Rahman, and Yahya Ruhian. But there are so many different styles in Indonesia it's hard to keep up.

Dear Abdur, With joy I have looked at your video again. Regonizing the living Pentjak Silat what indeed makes you find the power from within. Being relaxed. Watching you is inspiring me, again finding words for the practice. Thank Jeroen form the Netherland

"simplicity" means no extraneous BS simplicity means closer to the truth and simplicity is more brutal, quick and effective than overly complex.

I learned how to do a certain dance that used to be ancient and once called following snakes. Silat comes very easy to me because I know following snake. I also practice a way of life of ancient mexican sorcery. At least what is known about it. I do my best to walk the path of heart. My assemblege point is in a position of heaven. Personal freedom. I have love for the dream of the individual and the dream of the planet. The strings of light that creates the luminous body is something that a seer sees When understood how to dislodge the assemblage point to move to other positions is through knowing how to handle intent and have awareness of one's own Will to handle intent and use it as a tool to be aware while in the now.

Islamization of Chinese MArtial arts...I don't believe this is the Real Pencak Silat of Indonesia/Malaysia Islam Has nothing to do with MArtial arts it's a Religion of How to Live your Life according to the Creators Will.... Submission to thy Creator..Islam only encourages Swimming, Throwing (Shooting) and Horsemanship but doesn't teach you a certain Islamic Way of combat. Only Teaches Rule Of Combat in Wars..(Not to kill a child, Woman, old people, Animals, Trees, Places of Worship of the Enemy...etc)

There are hundreds of styles of pencak Silat, possibly even thousands of styles because there are many family styles inherited from generation to generation among the aristocratic family which are not open for outsider to learn. Well, there were 400 Islamic Kingdoms and Sultanates which were united under Republic of Indonesia and more under Malaysia, just do the math if each of the sultanate has 3-4 different style of Pencak Silat. Certain pencak Silat styles have everything to do with Islam, otherwise, the Islamic scholar won`t penetrated or even survived the brutal and vicious Budha and Hindu Kingdoms. Lets do a research about how Samudera Pasai first islamic Kingdom in 13th-15th century survived and had defeated multiple invasion of Srivijaya Kingdom. And no, Silat is not chinese martial arts, it`s native to Malay archipelago!! Whether some of its styles have influences from other martial arts from other cultures, thats another topic, but no!! Fuck you and fuck the chinese!!

It is Not Islamization of Chinese Martial Art. It have some influences of Chinese and Indian Martial arts. But it have been for very long time in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, southern Thailand and Philippines and Brunei. Even Kung Fu have influences from Indian Martial Arts. I train Shaolin myself, but would love to learn Silat from this gentleman. Also I would love to learn Escrima or Kali from Philippines. Greetings from Sweden to all humble and great Martial Artists in our world.

Silat is no doubt rooted in hindu/buddhist trafitions with chinese technique but especially in malaysia (we all know how malays are, mich stricter than indonesia) it becomes much more islamized. Even then, how much can they actually wipe out, garuda form, naga form, ramayana form, the origin of the keris rooted in hindu mythology, the concept of yin yang… the whole malay culture is based in indo-chinese culture not arab. As much as they make it more arab the more arab they makr the more they wipe out their culture. So they just plug in islamic things inplace of hindu concepts, black magic comes from jin instead of dark spirits for example… Do we actually need a second Saudi Arabia? No thank you, Aceh and Brunei are already fulfilling that
