When you buy a new RV, always change the tires out. Manufactures put the cheapest tires on the rig. They are bad. Cover your behind and put new very good tires on your rig.

As a certified RV Inspector, you are absolutely correct that everyone should get a new OR used RV inspected. Especially a new one. It's not just during the pandemic, it's the quality of workers they are hiring these days to keep up with demand. I have seen crazy things wrong with brand new RVs. Also, I always plan and budget extra money, but a $28K engine was not something we planned for. 😧

KZbin is pushing shorts pretty hard so it helps our channel a lot to do them. We think they're fun for quick things but don't feel bad skipping over them if you don't like them!

@@Five2Go Utube is trying to "complete" with TikTok for some reason. You do what you want to do. Their advice is not always good advice (is this point #6 for this video?). Personally, I don't like 30+ minute videos because they contain a lot of unnecessary filler. This video content was great!

Weight is Weight it's better over the axle than on the bumper I would have a dual axle for any heavy trailers

I had a transportation business and I learned to always budget for “gas” at 5-6 a gallon. Even when it drops. Being that some “presidents” words move markets and some don’t….. Commodities always move and it’s better to expect $5 a gallon and then pay $3.50.

When we got our Motorhome we told by a cousin no need to get an inspection. He said don’t waste your money, wish we didn’t listen to him. Cousin sold a unit that had problems.

It's never a waste of money. If they find something it can save you a lot of money down the road or in negotiating the price. If they don't find anything it's peace of mind.

Budget is completely thrown out the window for this upcoming trip 😂 we are very excited though because we are typically weekend warriors and our trailer has been winterized since October! I have a 2021 Newmar Essex that so for I have not had but 4 minor problems. But I had a Tiffion Allegro Bus that should have never left the factory. Also people need to Waite before buying to get close to 32% off of list price.

Fun note. Most 3/4 ton diesel trucks have very close to the same payload capacities as 1/2 tons.

I always shake my head when I get talking to someone about a truck/trailer set up and I’ll say “jeeze that looks a bit heavy for that truck…” and the response I get most of the time is “ya but I’ve got air bags” 🤦‍♂️ but I agree with you on the 3/4 ton payloads with a diesel

I love my Class A 2006 Monaco ... Built very, very well. Got my inspection ($1200) ... it's in excellent condition. Well built, solid wood cabinetry. New, it was $243K ... so back in the day it was a very nice rig (and still is)

Budgeting: in the world of budgets, the unplanned funds (buffer) are normally called Contingency. Your advice to have Contingency is excellent. Personal suggestion is to allocate at least 10%, perhaps a little more. Tires: please don't exceed max [cold] tire pressure of the tire. I've read about people advising that it is OK to pressurize them 10% over. NOT!

We purchased a 2019 Winibago travel trailer with one slide hoping to avoid the 2020-2021 quality issues. Nope molding around the slide came off, the Furnace wiring was staple damaged inside the walls, the AC wasn't wired right, the Waste valves were all jammed after a couple uses because they didn't trim the cables to a normal length they got all bound up inside the sealed underbelly. If this was normal I hate to see what was made during the C Boom ? We wound up trading down and lost some $$ but we now have a 2017 5R with 3 slides. Still has a few issues but they were from neglect and a Dealership that wasn't honest 😡 I don't think any are, Camping World is the worst offender I've dealt with.

That's tough! I'm surprised to hear that from Winnebago because they tend to be one of the better built brands, but the RV industry as a whole has some chronic quality issues...

How far out can one book national camp grounds. For example, I am in Ontario, Canada - I can book a provincial park site 5 months in advance, today is January 12, I can book a site starting June 12th.

Great info, great video... So if I'm looking to buy a used Class C RV, is 2017 going back far enough, so that the production is still decent ? Should the mileage be 50 K or less ?

Anything 2019 and older should be a little better but you'll want an inspection regardless

Go off season, like right now. It's not cheap, but it's a little bit cheaper. There's really no good way to save money at Disney. Sometimes there are good packages so just keep an eye out!

This is still new to us, but my wife just completed her training to be a travel agent and there are some significant savings for Disney and other popular attractions. We already have our trip booked for February, however we are considering staying at Fort wilderness during Christmas 2023 and she can get between 60-75% off depending on which site or cabin we book. Plus, she will get a commission on our booking lol seems like a win win to me

Always before. Lemon laws don’t apply to RV industry.

An inspector is ordered ahead of time and they'll go where the RV is. Don't sign any final paperwork until you review the inspection report.

Always tow in 4wd low while running 85 in your 1/2 ton while towing a grand design 5th wheel. I never wear gloves when hooking up my sewer hoses. Then I go meet everyone around me and shake their hands, patting them on the back, petting their dogs, touching their door handles, eating their snacks, sitting in their chairs and rubbing my hands all over the arm rests. Touching like 5 cokes before I take one out of the cooler

You're not! We're definitely younger than average 🤣 I wouldn't recommend a travel trailer for the older crowd because of how much more labor intensive setting them up is, but motorhomes are super easy!

@@Five2Go I know, was just messing around. Where I live Chevy and Ford guys are always jabbing at each other in fun. Before we got our motorhome I pulled our 5th wheel with a half ton Ford. We are occasional campers and never took it more than a couple hundred miles from home.
