If you have a new date, just change the date. If you don't have a new date, then cancel or delete are your only options. Cancel will notify people, while Delete will just make the whole event vanish.

If you go into settings you should be able to create the username there

Try looking in the Settings tab on the left of the page? They used to require having 25 followers first - perhaps that is still a requirement In some regions? Hope you can figure it out.
