Sitting A-Rod vs Lions during 15-1 season only for him to be rusty vs Giants in divisional round McCarthy not adjusting to his playcalling during 2015 without Jordy Nelson leading to a 4-6 2nd half of season going 10-6. The Chiefs worst backfire was Eric Fisher with the number one pick. Many choices could’ve been made but they picked a guy that caused a penalty to lose a playoff game, incredibly mediocre and can get beat easily
@sebaufiend4 жыл бұрын
Granted, this replay is a year late: Eric fisher wasn't that bad considering what the 2013 draft was and that we did finally win a superbowl with him. My personal mistake would be playing Grbac over Gannon in the 1997 playoffs. But Really, the *true* biggest fuck up in chiefs history was picking Blackledge over Marino in 83.

Might as well trade him and get some value out of him. Not to mention the guy is kind of a cancer when you consider only a few teams wanted to trade for him. I'm surprised you didn't pick starting Elvis Grbac over Rich Gannon. Much better example of a backfire.

Signing Colin Kaepernick was the biggest mistake? As a 49ers fan, that is weak. 1) In 2012, Colin and Newton dominated the NFL with the Read Option so much that a change in the rules had to be made for 2013. He also was #2 in the NFL behind Flacco for passes of 15+ yards. Colin also got work done in 2013 and led the 49ers to a third (his second) title game. If not for the protest issue, he would do well in the KC/LA Rams/Eagles system of an RPO, as he is a read option QB at heart, not the under center QB he was forced into by 2014. 2) There are many other mistakes the 49ers have made, such as the other end of that Kaepernick situation, getting rid of Harbaugh and replacing him with Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force a.k.a. Jimmy Tomsulla, or Potato Chip Kelly. GOing back to 2002 nd getting rid of Mariucci and signing Dennis Erickson who took a playoff losing team to thedepths of 2-12 and then drafting Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers.

I know this is hindsight, and you made this video two years ago, but the Chiefs backfire of the Peters trade ended up not being that bad of a deal. They got Thornhill, and Watts with the Rams Second and Fourth Round picks respectively. I would argue that solidifying the safety position which was aging when Peters was there while improving the locker room issues they had when Peters was a Chief actually helped with our run in 2019. I was surprised you didn't select the Todd Blackledge draft pick of 1983, when we could have drafted Jim Kelly, or Dan Marino. That haunted the Chiefs for over thirty years until the Mahomes draft pick in 2017,

Minnesota Vikings - Herschel Walker trade nets 3 mediocre performance years for a lot of draft picks. How well did the Dallas Cowboys do with all those picks, anyway? Detroit Lions - Bobby Lane to the Pittsburgh Steelers results in 60 years of pain and suffering in the Motor City and counting. New York Jets - Mo Lewis' hit on Drew Bledsoe in Week 1 of the 2001 NFL Season. How did that injury work out for the Jets, anyway? Bad drafting and coaching decisions is too complicated for just one backfire decision that this team needs its own "Top 10 Worst Backfires." Miami Dolphins - signing Daunte Culpepper in free agency instead of Drew Brees. What could have been?
