Really great video, man. Love the delivery, and audio quality (huge). You made this feel really simple, even with showing several advanced techniques. Subbed!

Loved this video, what is the best way to deal with changing white balance in a clip? I filmed a sunrise with my drone and stupidly had auto white balance on so it changes as I pan. Should I just split the clip into different sections?

Thank you for the kind words Samuel!... You can actually keyframe color adjustments in the color tab. I should probably make a tutorial on this 😳

Just stumbled upon you for the first time, and you are addressing a huge issue I have with one of the first videos I shot back this summer, where I did a simple run and gun music vid of a good friend at the beach during dusk / sunset, and forgot to switch off from Auto WB... Imagine the mess going between warm and cool temps!!! I'll get my hands on it asap following your Tut in hopes I can fix it without going crazy! (I guess I'll have to jump directly to the power window technique)... Thanks a lot, new sub here!

Hey Marcel, how are you? Hope you are great. So I wanted to ask you, do you know any sources for free raw footage from r3d/alexa/blackmagic/etc cameras, which would be great for color grading practice? I have some free footage from my MA but i need even more to practice when I have time! (hopefully)

This is a good question and unfortunately I can't say that I do... I am currently trying to find a way to provide footage myself. Hopefully in future tutorials I will have all the files to download so people can follow along.

Marcel, Thank you. I have been a Hitfilm user but it is time to look into Davinci to help with my white balance and coloring. Hitfilm express doesn't give me access to the scopes and Im not willing to part with the money for Hitfilm pro yet. Loved this tutorial. Keep em coming! New sub! -Will

I highly suggest Davinci Resolve. Even the free version gives you many capabilities other programs dont.

Great stuff, I'm definitely subscribing! I might have done so on the basis that you're another Marcel, and there aren't a ton of those outside of France. 😁 Just a small nitpick though, you might want to zoom in what you're doing or have a smaller screen resolution, so that it's easier to see where you're clicking and what you're doing.

How do you make the actual program seem so small and high res? I'm running on a 4k screen and everything is HUGE. Banging my head against the wall trying to move the sections around like in premiere but its not possible.
@TheModernFilmmaker5 жыл бұрын
I am just using a 4k resolution, didnt do anything special. Maybe in your display setting your scaling is set too high(like 150 or even 300).
@rgrebby5 жыл бұрын
@@TheModernFilmmaker its at 150, so will give it a go. Issue is 4k on a 27inch screen makes things look almost too small..

didn't really like the outcome of the third method on the first clip. there was still a noticable green tint, that was even visible in the scopes. Speaking of scopes, I personally preffer the waveform and the vector scope for colour corrections. the waveform is basically like the parade, but all colours are overlayed, so when they are the same, they appear white in the waveform.
