At this point, do anything thats anything muscle-strength-control related that you think is a good habit to have. Or maybe just a vlogging style concept of a day in "Mr Strong as shit"s life?

Does back lever have any strength carryover to hspu?
@mandlakei25133 жыл бұрын
no
@SimonsterStrength3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but very little... I would not train the back lever with the sole intention of improving my HSPU. The motor patterns are completely different but they do share some key muscles (although working in different ranges of motion). Both exercises require strong shoulder flexors, so building muscle mass in the shoulder flexors with back levers will theoretically increase your potential force output in your HSPU.

@@SimonsterStrength cool...I was thinking possibly having an arched back lever and having an arched back in hspu may both stem from a lower back weakness...

I have trouble breathing in the back lever how do I fix that
@stefanstillwell48543 жыл бұрын
Take a big breath before you start, then let a little of it go so your chest & ribs aren't too puffed up. When you each the position only short shallow breaths so you don't lose core tension on the out breath

I’ve been stuck at the tuck planche for a long time, and I’m not sure how to go from there to the advanced tuck planche. I can hold a tuck for half a minute pretty reliably, but I can’t hold advanced for more than a second. Do you have any recommendations for how to train that transition? I know this is a very common problem for beginning athletes.

Might be that your lats aren't strong enough yet but if they are then work on glute contraction. Use a light band to feel what a straight position is. Hope this helps

Great video simonster! Could you plz plz make a video on how to build up hip flexor strength..ive been doing the seated pike compressions. But if there are other exercises that help id really like to know. Thankyou. I can hold a full L sit with my pelvis tiled forward/arms locked out but i struggle with half hanging leg raises & can only do one full hanging leg raise with correct form. I really feel that its bcus of my hip flexors. I also have really good hamstring flexibility.
@laz_sw95243 жыл бұрын
i think that you should just keep training half hanging leg raises,or even drop to knee raises to build up capacity until you feel ready to move up to toes to bar.Generally working on core strength will help a lot,so you can give hollow body holds and dragon flies a go as well.I hope i helped you!Keep going strong my friend!!! :D
@chriswhitley15353 жыл бұрын
@@laz_sw9524 i can hold a correct hollow body hold for 30+seconds. Ive tried dragon flags but i dnt think im strong enough for that yet. Everytime i attempted one i feel alot of pressure in my mid back area
@laz_sw95243 жыл бұрын
@@chriswhitley1535 i feel you my friend,you just have to take it slow.Start from advanced tuck if you have to.Move up to one leg,then go for straddle...and when it gets comfortable try the full version.Right now i'm working on straddle,should get the full flies in around 1-2 months.
