You can now also edit the subtitle on the view window in the same way that you can now edit titles by fist choosing "Fusion Overlay" this I find sometimes easier than going over to the inspector although you do need the inspector window open and the cursor positioing for some reason is slightly out.

I forgot about that. Great tip, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for those tips. What I've been doing recently is getting a transcript of the whole video *without timing* and then uploading that to KZbin. It does a very good job in matching the text to the spoken words. I'd never bake in subtitles because they reduce accessibilty for many people with attention or visual problems.

Nice, yeah and the baked in subtitles is really more of a current social media trend in my mind. It's what the cool young kids are doing, but I agree with ya.

Thank you. Always find something new from you. Also tip for multiple lock, mute, solo and other track options. Go to index->tracks, click and hold left mouse button over some of track controls and move it up or down. And also wish from blackmagic a shortcut for solo and mute in edit page, not in fairlight

I wish when you export it also do The subtitles with the video and not be a whole separate folder but hopefully in future updates that could be an option

About transcription, to make cut points and remove the silent audio, I found it ineffective for shorts as it doesn’t really remove all the silences. Do you believe slowing the audio 50%, raising the gain on the channel we want to cut them on and soloing the channel make it be more likely to produce more cut points of the silences?

Hi Chadwick, I have been trying your method and after doing around three or four sections the subtitle creation suddenly hung and would not do anything. I had to each time force quit and restart the programme to carry on. Have you had any similar problems? I am using a MackBook with M1 Pro chip and 16GB memory and it is running Sonoma 14.6.1 and DaVinci studio 19.

I'm sorry Dave, I haven't had that happen yet. You might try duplicating the timeline and giving it a go on the new one.

I’m puzzled. I’ve never adjusted my timecodes to start at 0 and the exported file works perfectly with KZbin… also it didn’t seem that using X to transcribe individual bits made any difference on your timeline to the single word caption that ended the sentence so I can’t see the point?

I like to make karaoke style (SNAP) Captions for Music videos and using the Inspector VOICE ISOLATION or the MISIC REMIXER to cut all backround and Isolate the voice even further.

Chadwick: Man this is really Informitive (Many things I didn't realize were possible i.e. turning on and off all the AUTO TRACK SELECTORS at the same time. NOW for the Real Request. If someone made a data base of all Davinci ICONS & MENUE items with an INDEX / Dictionary / Referance Video to Explain not only the Name of the ICON / MENU Item but a Definition / Video example (From U-Tube) how the icon is used. It could also open the HELP / Davinci Resolve Referance Manual at the first accurance of said Icon / Menu item. All accomplished by Hovering over the ICON / ITEM and pressing sa Key Combo like Shift + TAB + F1. This would not only be a great teaching tool for the Beginner but a Boon to those with limmted abilitys to remember all the hidden idiosyncrasies of DaVinci Resolve. This is something I'd deffinatly pay for. If there people out there that now they have seen something but can't remember how it works or what it accomplishes this would be of Imence halp. Just saying might be a great moneymaker, Boss.

what I hate is that it doesnt take the words and sentences in consideration, it will cut sentences in the middle, so you will be basically editing all of them
