"Fix It Right!" Series Two
Intake Manifold Gaskets
on a 2005 Chevy Uplander 3.5L
PART ONE
Skill Level
DIY POSSIBLE, BUT TOUGH
This is an advanced repair. This repair is possible to do yourself without requiring extensive tooling or equipment, but is time-consuming and complex.
Synopsis
GM uses plastic-core intake manifold gaskets on many of its V6 engines, and these have a high failure rate. A failed intake manifold gasket causes coolant leaks, and if these are left unchecked, engine damage can result. In this video, the plastic gaskets will be replaced with metal-core gaskets, which eliminates the problems
caused by failed plastic-core gaskets.

About The Series
"Fix It Right!" is a how-to series on auto repair, directed toward DIYers that already have at least some small amount of experience with repairing their own vehicles. Repairs are performed by a real automotive technician, on a real vehicle, using real tools and techniques.
The "Fix It Right!" video series includes captioning instead of narration, so that DIYers that are following along can pause the video without interrupting or losing spoken dialogue. These videos don't hold your hand and try to provide overly micromanaged instructions. Instead, they show what the job really entails, with enough details to be useful without overwhelming the viewer.
