You have saved me again! My first try doing this I had to get it printed at a local office supply place, and they happened to give me some free label release paper that someone had left behind. It all turned out perfect! I put together some ornaments for my nephews funeral with a B&W photo on the front and an image of his name, in his own handwriting, on the back. Well, they liked it so much, that family members who were not able to attend asked if I could make some more. I didn't have anymore of the free paper, so thought I could use a different brand. Used 2 different kinds of paper, and It all turned out horrible! I've been so frustrated, because I don't know what I used before, and it just isn't working for some reason. I actually think it's the fact that I'm using an old office supply printer, so I ordered a laser printer (Been asking for years and my husband finally agreed). Now I'll have the ability to adjust to high gloss paper settings, and can play with the brightness without having to drive across town. THANK YOU!!!

I love these videos, so calming and creative. I’d love to see you using craft products that aren’t tested on animals or contain animal products. Sadly a lot do so it would be great if you found and used some that weren’t because I know you love animals too, Crafsman. ✌🏼 this is definitely my favourite channel on all of KZbin 😊
@TheCrafsMan6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for mentioning that! I do try to look for safe products (like the glue in my cabochon video), but absolutely want to use anything not involving the harm of an animal. If you know of some products for me to NOT use, please do share, because it can be hard to know, based on the labels.
@asmrstuff86076 жыл бұрын
TheCrafsMan SteadyCraftin 😊, I unfortunately wouldn’t know any alternative products in the US because I live in England. One good way to find out (because you are right about labels being difficult to know [now when I say label I have the ‘peeling off the label, peeling of the label’ song in my head from this video hahaha]) is to look up the SDS Safety Data Sheet of the product online and it often tells you whether it has been tested on animals and says which animals.

I'll have to try the polyacrylic, because the liquitex left a lot of lines on the surface where it did not level out. I put a very thin layer on with a foam brush. It still looks good from a distance though. I put a decorative bread sign on my wife's bread tin.

For photo transfers to fabric I've had good luck using acrylic caulking. Not sure how it works to transfer to wood (the caulking might be too thick of a layer) but the acrylic caulking is cheap and easy to get.
