CA Glue will not bond to metal long term. You need to use contact cement or a hybrid polymer construction adhesive.

​@@Dino_BukI was going to use standard J-B Weld for an old rubber hatchet handle. Is J-B Weld overkill in terms of bond strength?

This would only hold for a few days.. I've done this multiple times.. The problem is always the design and the style of the rubber Handle..
