From the video the clicking seems to be in time with the PWM signal for the heatbed. Does it not happen at full power for the heatbed and then starts clicking when the bed reaches temp and the PWM reaches a 50% duty cycle? If both PSU's do it, I'd look at the heatbed wiring. (Having just finished writing the above, I see this was almost two years ago. Maybe my comment will help someone else).

A few shots of how the wiring all went together could help. I'm tempted to get one of these Mean Well psu for my machine but don't want to go into it blind for how to wire it all.

so did you figured out what caused the sound? I have an psu that sounds the same...

Did a bunch of tests, didn't get it to click outside the machine. I think it is poor design that they improved on the mk3s. But the one I bought a couple months ago still has a very slight whine but no where nearly as bad as the mk3

Mine was doing the thing, it eventually just blew a fuse and died ... tried replacing the fuse and again just kept blowing fuses and no life. Amazon to the rescue for $50 ... back to new and a much thinner quiet power supply with a fan that turns on under heavy load which is nice. Swapped out the fan for an even more silent brushless version :)

that's a good idea to swap out the fan...If I take it apart again I'll look into it!

Try UHP-350-24 or UHP-500-24 from Mean Well, fanless conduction cool power supply

Did you try other printer than the Prusa? What do you think about MK3S? Does it really print better thant Creality or others? I am still wondering which one to buy. Man.. having a 3D printer that cost 1000 and having to fix everything by yourself is a real shame.

I also have a Creality Ender 3 Pro. For the price (~300 with the upgrades needed to make it work OK) it is pretty impressive. It seems to be very good at PLA but I haven't had much luck with other filaments. Nor do I worry too much... that's what the Prusa is for. I also have an EPAX X1 resin printer. I'm strongly considering buying a second printer, a MK3S, to have to back up the original. Plus I print high-temp stuff in the one I have. If this is your first printer, go Prusa. I think they've worked out the bug with the PSU (but don't hold me to it). The Prusa just works. has nice features like bed leveling and good software. And it is Direct Drive. You'd have to spend closer to $400-500 to upgrade the Ender to have most of the features of the Prusa. That said, if you've played with FDM before, I found the Ender to be straight forward to setup, and I could just adjust the bed level by eye. For the price, it's nice to have a PLA machine to print pet projects while the work horse builds my robots for work. Lastly, to your $1K comment, that's the trade-off for these new, consumer 3D printers. There's a reason why industrial printers cost 10K+. What you get for the ultimakers, etc. in the $4K-$6K range is more robustness. Companies can't afford to have downtime and need to play with printers, so they are willing to cover the difference. People playing around at home would rather pay less, but at a price haha.

@@MattBilsky Thank you so much for your answer. I do not mind to add some upgrade to the Ender 3 pro. As I understood on many reviews is that the Under3pro is more quiet (if upgraded) and is printing with a better quality if you spend some time to set it. Its the first printer I buy, but i used to print few years ago with some good quality printer (Ultimakers, Upbox). I no not mind to send time to configure everything. I have a budget of 1000€ so I could go with the Prusa, but frankly, if the quality of the Ender is as good as the Prusa.. why not. I understand that the customer support is good with prusa and its printing good out of the box. What do you think about the level of the noise of your Prusa compared to Creality? Same question for printing quality?

@@joanS12 I swapped the ender 3 pro to the quite board. But the fans are louder. The stock Prusa is quieter. And the printing on the Prusa is better (for me). I print everything from PLA to flexible and carbon fiber. The Prusa just works. I am a far larger fan of direct drive than Bowden. Everyone has had luck with every printer. That said, I have decided for me that I will not put any real money into the Ender (I have metal stepper upgrade, glass bed, stiff springs, and silent mainboard). That's it. Any more printers I buy will be either Prusa, something with dual extruder, or a more expensive one.
