Go for it! I'm a licensed nail tech and work on men's nails. I suggest you start with a gentleman's manicure. Once you've been to the salon you'll feel more comfortable. There is nothing wrong, in fact many people prefer, someone with well groomed hair, nails and skin. It shows that you care about yourself. Whether it's a manicure or enhancements, do what makes you happy :-)

David Campbell As a woman, I prefer men's natural nails (as long as they're short, I have a thing about men with long natural nails) but I would be goddamned if I'd tell my husband not to go get some acrylics at the salon if that's what he wanted- you do you! The nail techs won't judge, my sister is one & she works on men all the time, they don't care :) Go for it!

I bite my nails but I also bite the skin around them A LOT. Like the skin around the nail is raised because of scar tissue I think. And yes, it DOES hurt when I bite the skin. I never really let them heal because when I see its healing the skin is rough and I think “oh no I want smooth skin” so logically I bite it right off 😫

i used to bite my nails until highschool, and like you mentioned i didn't even notice doing it when i was stressed like on tests. i tried the clear bitter nail polish but it didn't make me stop either. then i had enough of them being ugly and asked my mom to take me to get a manicure. i tried very hard not to bite them for a week before the appointment and when i saw how nice they looked polished and taken care of, i never bit them again. it wasn't acrilic or gel nails, just simple polish but maybe this tip can help you.

Try just painting one nail at first, and tell yourself you can’t bite any nail that is painted. Then each week after paint anther nail, until you have all ten painted. I hope this helps

Seeing a male getting short acrylics is sort of comforting I recently have really gotten into nail technician stuff and I absolutely love suzie!!! Yaaas! Few are aware that the best in the business whether it is makeup, hair, fashion or nails are men. I am a man who is also a MUA, and a hairdresser. And I started getting long acrylic claws since last year. Funny tho because the 1st time I walk in there is confusion whether I am a client or waiting for a friend lol. Now I switched places to a better salon where the ones who does my nails are a guy as well. He is a perfectionist like me so always fab nails! Some women hate on us. Why I dunno. Maybe they feel threatened by men doing the same and looking fab while doing it. "we won't be free until we are all free". Equality for all: the LGBT and Afro American community, women, and the different minorities. Women tend to forget it wasn't that long ago they could only wear dresses and skirts, and having a career outside the home as well as voting was unheard off. I still get some ugly stares by fellow clients, but most people are prob just curious or in shock.

OMG YES! Guys a tip to stop biting your nails is to really just not do it. Force yourself not to as much as you want to, and if you feel the urge to bite them slap your hand. Literally. I haven't chewed my nails for 5 weeks they look so much better! It's better to stop biting in the long run c:

I used to bite my nails too. Then I sat down and thought about it, and realized - my hands a good number of times weren't washed before I started biting. And then I started thinking about everything I touched beforehand, and everything that could have touched the things I touched before me. I haven't bit them in years. That train of thought makes it really easy to quit when you have a kid and pets in your house.

I just wanted to state this is a technique of a perfectionist nail tech. They are hard to find or they charge a riculous upgrade fee for this like you're paying for a manicure and getting sculpted whether gel or acrylic I tend to care naturally to a natural nail look and cleaned up I prefer these nail techs who don't charge and consider that this is part of nail care and preparation before you have nails created. You do not know how many times in the past I've gone to get my raggedy nails done and they leave this step out. It's half ass and it looks like Kaka when they don't they're just in a hurry and do not take pride in their chosen art profession. In my opinion these techs are greedy and just building capital. To me this is the difference between a nail tech and a nail professional that views this more as an advertising structure which would bring you more income and you have a die hard fan and customer that will come back continuously because of the extra touch. It's for the no frills and hidden imperfections. I tip these nail professionals because it was more of an individualized set of nails rather than mass production .The nails usually have more of a natural and time saving and s lf preservation of business rather than the pursuit of money In and out type deal everyone's hands looks different case by case basis I rather do them myself my mother says I over manicure. But I love the cleanliness remove my hangnails and ragged nail bed and conditions my nails for the presentation it's more likely that your client or quest will come back because you consider the details and overall take pride in your nails and how you take pride in what you and the possible desire to keep and add clients continuously

I been doing my nails for 40 years and true Nail professionals are hard to find now a days, it used to take over two hours before drying, and yes with Gel that's much faster now but just to prep, form, shape and polish to get your nails done right, when it takes 45 min your in the wrong shop.
