This is to help everyone who likes notes!!!! I watched the video like 2 times and wrote down notes because of how amazing this technique seems!!! They are EXTREMELY detailed and I hope it helps anyone! It surely helped me taking them! Sandwich Technique 1-measure form -cut along the smile line to fit the nail shape -cut diagonally along the natural nail line(side wall) -roll the form slightly -secure the form(make sure it is straight!) -pull back the flaps and tuck the sides 2-outline the shape of the nail -natural fiber (Light elegance) -for a natural look-follow along the natural curves of the nail 3-fill in the shape -remember to allow the brush to do the work for you!!! Using smooth gestures(as if your writing in cursive) DO NOT DAB(this creates bubbles) 4-ombré into the nail plate 5-flash cure(3-4 sec) 3x 6- pinch the nail(using tweezers or fingers) using light pressure 7-flash cure again?? 8-use a small amount of gel(1step Lexie line light elegance) and make a small wall against the cuticle area -grab more product and paint on the nail, starting from the “wall” with smooth, long gestures(from the cuticle area to the tip) -use the tip of the brush to smooth over and ensure that the side walls are connected with the extensions 9-cure for 30sec 10-clean the nail 11-shape the nail-using a nail file (or efile) -make sure that the side walls are straight and even with each other, make sure that it alines with the natural nail 12-buff the nail, smoothing it and removing any shine to help the color adhere 13-grab product, push the gel into the cuticle creating a wall in front of the brush, while leaving it there while working on the rest of the nail -pull a little to the rest of the nail -the allows the nail to absorb the product, and to get a perfect line along the eponychium -focus on the sides-and don’t forget to wrap around the nail -doesn’t have to be perfect however- this is the base layer Maintain a thin layer 14-cure for 30 seconds 15-apply 1 step(or any clear gel) -apply a thin layer over the entire nail(using long strokes across the whole nail) -this acts as a guide for the rest of the gel -take a HUGE pearl of gel and place it where you desire the apex to be (she places it more towards the back of the nail-closer to the eponychium rather then the center of the nail) -push slightly towards the eponychium -tilt the nail slightly -use the brush to guide the gel in the center of the nail-using small gestures going side to side(again remember to allow the brush to be the guide- pretend like you’re writing in cursive and DO NOT dab) - place the hand upside down -gravity does the work for you and helps you create a perfect apex- if panicking this is an amazing safety net -if you want to move the gel slightly you can use the tip of the brush to do so DO NOT dig into the gel -remember to check the shine of the nail-if they are straight your application is smooth-if the reflection is muddy it still needs some work! -remember to look at it with different angles 16-flash cure it-then IMMEDIATELY turn upside down repeat 3-4x -helps maintain apex and prevents heat spikes -remember to maintain fingers straight 17-cure for 30 sec 18-clean nails 19-file the shape of the nail once again and around the eponychium -avoid the apex to maintain its height 20-file the tip of the nail with a vertical stroke -remember to role the finger as you go 21-buff the nail 22-clean the nail -make sure to clean the dust around the nails(could use nails or maybe cuticle pusher to really get in those cracks) 23-repeat step 13 -make sure to keep a thin layer 24- cure for 30 sec 25- apply too coat (light elegance super shine) -work top coat into the nail in order to maintain a thing layer while ensuring that there isn’t any dry spots 26-cure it for 1 min 27- cleanse nail 28- shape the nail again -extremely soft! Use light strokes with a fine grit file 29- apply cuticle oil to center of the nail and massage into eponychium and the nails 30-take a clean wipe and rub over the nail -the squeak is how you know you’ve done it right! -helps with pictures!

For ordinary nail polish people: Celina's oil trick works for regular top coats when it's FULLY dry. But you don't necessarily need to do it. My advice, only do that when your top coat dulled and you don't have a top coat with you to make it shiny again. It won't hold on much longer mind you but it can make your nails look pretty for a little while. 😄 I did it in a hurry when I had an important presentation and it worked just fine. 😄

@sarabeth641
@sarabeth641 6 жыл бұрын
Well under curing is going to be bad because you won't have the strength, and it will change shape. It could also be partially liquid and get on other things. Overcuring, I'm not too sure. The person above me answered, so I'll trust them on that. But also, you don't want to expose yourself to the LED and UV light more than needed.

It is so gratifying to see a nail artist take their time, and really show attention to detail when it comes to nails. Unfortunately, I've paid anywhere from $25 to $75 for a full set and I have YET to find a consistent nail technician half as good as Celina and Suzie. Where I'm from, if you get acrylic - it's a powder and liquid that forms into a gel-like substance... if you get gel, it's the same thing. THIS IS REAL GEL! I love getting my nails done but I hate spending so much money on nails that I end up hating.

It'd be nice to almost fall a sleep while getting your nails done.. unfortunately when these "ppl at the shops" do it, you have to watch and most time guide them.. otherwise they rush the job, buff and cut down your nail to almost nothing, and no apex for strength. Ugh 😔 It's bittersweet watching Suzie's videos. It's educational and relaxing, but you know you'll never get that experience unless she does your nail.

Tashiann Morant exactly. I Can't find a decent place to get my nails done. It's all cutting the nail really short gluing on tips and slapping on some acrilic and color. I just want a place where the nail tec loves what they are doing and has a passion for it

If you guys always look for budget places, you'll get a budget experience. There's are decent nail techs in almost every city in the world, but they don't work for a pittance.
@belmemyself123
@belmemyself123 6 жыл бұрын
MateriaGirl, no one mentioned a budget. I know plenty of places that charge a small fortune and claim to give you the "best of the best", but follow the same process as Breanne mentioned and then rush you out the door. I also know of places that are very affordable and do a way better job than the pricier options. There are decent nail techs everywhere, but there are not great nail techs (that have as much precision and passion as Suzie and Celina do) everywhere- which is what Tashiann and Breanne are talking about.
@materia7932
@materia7932 6 жыл бұрын
Bianca Lundin The great nail techs usually have very full client books, but I know for a fact there are many great techs out there. Sure no one mentioned a budget, but the statement about "no one" doing a decent job and "everyone slap on some tips and call it a day (which is what they said) is incorrect, hence my post. In smaller towns, you might have to search a little harder or commute a little bit longer, but a nail tech that fits what the two posters above are looking for do exist quite plentifully all over the globe. But yes admittedly, they will often be booked out.
@belmemyself123
@belmemyself123 6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure where you live, but great nail techs are not plentiful. It is not as easy as you are trying to make it sound to find a nail tech like Suzie or Celina. I'm guessing you live somewhere that has a larger amount of quality nail techs, but that does not make that the majority. Just to nitpick, you cannot "know for a fact" the amount of quality nail techs around the globe, unless you have personally gone to them all. The more common situation IS what has already been covered by Breanne and Tashiann.

Gorgeous! And I absolutely love, LOVE! the colour. I'm not a professional nail tech, but I really enjoy Suzie's videos and how she's able to talk to those of us who are not pros. Celina is an awesome twin for Suzie's down-to-earth teaching and humour. BTW - The first time I did a gel polish and I used my lamp, my husband called it "nuking". We're Canadian, in Ontario just east of Toronto. I think "nuking" might actually be a Canadian thing.

futasupastah Celina did say Sweden but she also said Canadian vs England 34:00 , from what I know Kristy’s videos are filmed in England. I did question when Celina said that but I was confident it was Kristy and I had a feeling she messed up on that part because of the way she reacted when she said it, also throughout the rest of this video I was questioning it but I heard her say something about Sweden and something about herself, I don’t remember and I was like yeah she got them switched. Such a long reply and late, I apologize. If I am mistaken tell me, cause Kristy could have been from Sweden and moved to England years ago I don’t know her life, I don’t think so but there’s a slight chance . Bye lol 😆😅🤐

I would assume you're not allowed to touch the skin with an oil brush. A lot of nail products won't allow bacteria production, but cuticle oil WILL. I was taught (in the US) to always use a dropper for oil on clients for this reason. It's not ILLIGEAL in the US, more like discouraged. I would assume it's illigeal in Belgium... smart.

Kudos to Celina for developing a technique that fits the style she works with perfectly! The nails came out PERFECTLY. I just feel like it may be tricky to transfer that onto other technicians. Everyone has their own style and way of doing things and many people will have to adjust their style quite a bit to make this technique work for them. I'm not sure if that's worth the transition for everyone. Just something to keep in mind if you think about trying out this technique. See how different it is from how you like to work usually

Katelynn Murphy I think they meant the brush. The nail is super clean from the cleansing so wouldn’t necessarily contaminate the brush. It’s better to place the oil with the brush on the very clean nail rather than on the skin. Does that make sense?
