I’ve been having a pain in the exact place on your video and you made me realize that’s how I am walking: tilting my hip up and down slightly as I walk and that causes the pain! I will pay amore attention when I walk and hopefully in time, this will make the pain go away. Thank you so much! ❤

Just thought, based on your description of the swinging hips: I imagine holding babies on our hips while doing daily tasks throughout the day contributes to future bursitis. I have always said women (especially, but men too) need to have physical therapy as part of the standard postpartum care. We (standard American medical community) wait way too long to attend to ourselves, and then we mostly just treat symptoms. 😔

I was first diagnosed with this in April and the pain was incredible, especially the band down outer thigh. The hip pain kept me awake at night. I lived on painkillers for weeks and did the exercises as advised by the physiotherapist. By June, it was much better, no pain and I started up my hour walks again and bang it flared up in July only much worse this time. I was almost crying with the pain. Today is the first day I have gone without prescribed painkillers. The problem with me is that I have a slight curvature and the leg that was affected is around a quarter or so shorter. I also have fallen arches which are so painful too.

My right hip has been bothering me both in the front and on the side, and I had no clue as to what it could be. I had similar pain and although my physio guessed it to be under use of mid gluteus muscles, none of the exercises she gave me were particularly helpful. However I discovered one exercise online which did: Stand with feet together and facing forward Turn right foot in so toes on that foot are angled towards other foot. Lift right leg back diagonally, gently. Repeat several times then switch to other leg. Also helpful to turn toes out when doing body squats or deadlifts. One reason why I think I developed the hip pain originally was because during the pandemic I wasn't at the gym where I used the elliptical (which takes pressure and force off the joints) and was walking outdoors for miles instead. I was also exercising at home without toes turned out in the way I did when at gym. Also very important to have correct support in footwear 😊

Wow--I had no idea my walking and dancing could be contributing to my Trochanteric bursitis--I thought it was from pressure against the floor, but this makes sense. The hard part will be integrating it into my dance. Was trying to see how far off your back foot peels off the ground. Ten reps on each side is quite a lot, but I imagine there's a lot of re-training involved...

I didn't feel that I moved to the side when walking, and checked it out with a bean pole. If I did it would have been knocked out of me 60 years ago when I did my military training. Which reminded me that only 2 out of 36 young soldiers swayed at all when walking. However it led me to think about gait and the realisation that walking on uneven ground is probably good for me as then differing muscles come into play on each step.

I'm 68 years 'young' and was a reasonably fit and healthy person until 2.5 years ago during our crazy lockdowns here.I started walking more than usual and went a bit too fast too soon and felt this 'ripping pain' go up my left leg. Eventually had an ultrasound which showed trojanteric bursitis, but my physio said it was clear to her id damaged my gluteus medius muscle. It cleared up for a while after i was advised to have a steroid injection which did nothing. Over 2 years later my pain has come back with vengeance. Being unable to go on my walks has greatly affected my quality of life and mental health. Physio exercises were aggravating it and i cant take anti inflammatories forever, they MUST be something that can fix this. So in desperation today i found this site and did a couple of these exercises. Now i will report back in a week then two weeks on here and let others know how i go.. What i need to know from others that have done this exercise is, has your pain level improved and are you walking and getting around more? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@TaroIwamoto
@TaroIwamoto 2 жыл бұрын
do you also have trochanteric bursitis? calcification usually develops in response to repeated stress (friction, compression). The first thing you want to know is how you're repeated stressing the area during your daily movements including walking, then you want to retrain movement patterns in order to reduce stress to the area. The video addresses gait pattern that leads to bursitis.

I think I have both bursitis and sciatica. I first started walking wrong after toe injury and resulting knee damage. Then I stopped moving at all and developed sciatica as well. Coming back slowly. Starting to walk normally again. Only massage or diazepam reduces sciatica pain. Starting to workout again to correct muscular imbalance. Abs are much weaker than back muscles in my case.
