For folks who this didn't work for, check to see if you have any type of overlay running. For me it was Yolomouse. A mouse cursor overlay to make the cursor more visible/custom in games the cursor is hard to keep track of. So any type of like gaming overlay might be the issue. Even say a FPS meter or something like that. Hope this helps.

what a legend, you just saved my life! heres what i did: i tried the ctrl + alt + del, did not work. then, i shut down my computer, opened it up again. hold the power for 5 seconds just like the video said. i did that until it showed a different screen. where i was brought to put my finger touch in, and im saved! my original problem was not being able to click or open any programs. thanks a lot! 🙂

@@ari6q just press and hold the power button of your laptop or your pc like the one on the cpu if you have a pc hold it for like 5-10 seconds it should restart on its own if it still dosent then leave it alone for some time and then try the same trick it worked for me i left it for 20-30 mins then it started working on its own

Second option worked for me, i don't have the same file path as yours but i followed my path, my default had no value so i just put the explorer.exe and it worked! You're literally the best 🎉 thank you 😊

I tried the first option but it didnt shut it down and instead trasferred me to a coding system. I tried the second option but there wasnt any winlogon optiom there. Only BCD000000, Hardware, SAM, SECURITY, SOFTWARE and SYSTEM. Edit: Ok the second method worked after I finally figured out how to restart it. Thank god. Thank u so much man

In the second method, value data was 'explorer.exe' then clicked ok and closed the window. Restart option wasn't visible on the screen, clicked cntrl+alt+delete again then the restart option was visible on the bottom right corner. Restarted and my problem was fixed. Also my Laptop has multiple user profiles, when I clicked cntrl+alt+delete on a non admin profile, the 'file option' and 'run this task with admin privileges' was not visible. But when i tried on the admin profile, the file and run with admin privileges box was visible just like shown in this video. Thanks dude

Unfortunately none of the solutions worked for me. Screen is still black with a mouse cursor. To everyone who is still facing this problem: Try unplugging all cables (monitor(s), keyboard, ethernet, all of it) and then starting your pc again. That worked for me. If you have multiple monitors and you want to see what happens, then only try plugging in one of your second monitors and not the primary one.
