dude deleting the upperfilters and lowerfilters registry key and restarting the computer after that for me it runs into a bsod and then goes to automatic repair mode and i cant get rid of it i had to reset my pc

My DVD rom never recognizes my computer unless I unplug the usb end in the back of my dvd rom and plug it back in, then it recognizes. I did your steps but none of them worked. Seems no one makes DVD roms anymore that are compatible with Windows 11, or 10 for that matter. Hey Microsoft, believe it or not, there are some people out there that still use DVD roms today, not everyone streams their videos online! Especially older folks like me!

That third option helped. I did not have a lower filters entry. But I deleted the gearaspiwdm entry - that's been causing issues off and ona while now. But my BD drive works and all now. Thank you!!

With must trepidation did the first solution and it worked. I'm not a computer nerd so messing with the regedit wasn't something I felt comfortable with.... so what exactly did I do? Non-geek language please. Thx for posting. Oh.. also, now I am getting messages from my Window's Defender saying they are blocking OOD checker from making changes in my memory.

Thanks for the fix. Strange that windows does not check for dvd drive. Guess windows disables certain plug and play options. I find it really strange that microsoft does these things.... why make it soo hard to add hardware?

in registry editor {4d36e966-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} inplace of LowerFilters I have LastDeleteDate REG_BINARY 1b 92 82 b6 49 d2 d9 01 instead. However I have UpperFilters inplace. My cd dvd drive is a pluggin for windows 11 and as soon as I install Nero dvd software this drive stopped working. I tried all your info and nothing seemed to work. the last time I deleted the Lower and Upperfilters I needed to reinstall my PC to an ealier date. Does anyone know anything else I can do?
