I highly recommend the counter depth fridge and keep the old fridge in the garage. Works great for us👍. Plus, things do not freeze or get lost and moldy in the back with a counter depth 😀

It is common in our area for family who have large gathering, to have an upright freezer and an extra frig, in the garage. You will thank your self time and time again for doing that. So....so handy.

I'm single with a counter depth refrigerator. Glad I don't have a giant fridge sticking out but it's small especially for a family of your size. Another fridge would be necessary for sure!

Jessa, Won't roller skates and scooters scratch up the floors ?? My Grandson's play with Legos and one of them rode his skateboard the floor. I was afraid that they would be scratching up the floors. So I laid a blanket down for the play area for the Legos and just told them no skates or skateboards on the floors.

we had an electrical box like that in our last home. I framed it out with 1 x2, attached foam board to MDF board and stapled to back of frame. We hung it with 4 velcro command strips so it was easily removed for easy access. Used it to hang children's art work, used for command center/bulletin board etc. Hid an eye sore and was a very useful thing to have with several children. At Christmas time, we used it to tack up photos that were sent in Christmas cards. As the children got older, we removed the foam. We then chalk board painted a piece of wood. Used it for memory versus and eventually for a menu board

Suggestion cover the electric panel with a chalk board paint or with a dry erase board so you can put little notes or messages and easy for the kids to have access to it. You can also use magnets. Looks great.

A suggestion for keeping toys on the floor corralled: Place at least one large laundry basket on the floor of each room, and about three times a day, blow a whistle or ring a bell. The children will know that it's time to put the toys laying around in the baskets. You can even give a small reward for the child who picks up the most toys. A piece of candy, for example.

As a preeschool teacher I wouldn’t recommend blowing a whistle. It urks me, makes kids like dogs. And it is behaviorism theory to give rewards of the kids do things right. I would recommend to be consistent. Picking up the house and cleaning is something natural that kids can do without rewards. I know, all 24 kids in my group do clean up without getting a reward, a star or a good job.

I love that idea! I would turn everything into games for the little ones while they were learning! Anything from chores, to learning sight words or letters! They laugh and have fun rather than looking at it as a mundane task! My family and I even do it with them being older still. We will have competitions like who can clean mirrors better, (I always win I know lots of tricks!)😆

Love the combination of the light wood cabinets and doors with the white. More interesting and warmer than an all-white kitchen. I would do white appliances, which will contrast nicely with the wood cabinets without getting too many colors going in the kitchen.

Looking good. I really like the natural wood tone of your lower cabinets and doors. Installing a large plain mirror in the bathroom gives you an opportunity to do a diy frame later. For example, I hot glued glass pebble rocks I got at the dollar store around my bathroom mirror and it looks pretty cool. Congratulations on your new home.

Counter depth is worth it. Fridges sticks out so far We had to rearrange our kitchen. Just cause the fridge. Hisense has a 4 door counter depth that’s inexpensive. Costco sells it. Makes ice. But it’s tall. You may need to Loose your top cabinet or make it shorter. But it’s so big it’s worth it and the bottom one side of freezer can be turned to a fridge. So if you have a deep freezer in the garage or something you get more fridge space in the house.

Lovely! May I suggest continuing the white with stainless steel accents? That way you can do the microwave in stainless or white. Your toaster and other small appliances can be stainless steel, white, or pops of color.

I’d love to see the coordinating Kucht fridge (counter depth) in stainless or white panel to match the stove. I think a family your size can utilize a counter depth efficiently especially if you’re eating a Whole Foods, healthy type diet. You will need to clean out the fridge weekly anyhow, I think it will encourage less waste. A second fridge or chest freezer for stocking up or extra food for hospitality can be placed in the garage. It might be fun to put a chalkboard over the electrical panel with your current quote or memory verse for meditation. I personally think black stools would really help break up all the natural wood for some visual interest and to tie in the other black accents. Am I the only odd one who is most excited to see your family closer in operation? LOL

I’d also do a stainless microwave and ask the cabinet makers to give you one more cabinet door for the trash area. You can easily purchase a rolling track frame system that will allow you to have 2 trash bins slide out from the area and hide behind a cabinet door.

NOOOOO!! I wanted to see his reaction! 😄 I agree with you on the stools. That one is perfect so, 5 more of those, no back needed. I LOVE the huge trees all in a row outside. 😍 Turn your couch to face your fireplace with a chair at one side with a huge rug underneath all to create a seating/gathering area, that way your back isn't to the window! Oh, and, yes, all white in your kitchen. Also, go with a fridge that doesn't protrude out or you'll regret it. Buy a 2nd fridge for more space. Also, I like your idea of changing your pulls to the round knobs. Bc they have rounded "edges" (or no edges per se) you won't be gouging yourself on them like you will the ones you have installed now. Also, they won't snag your clothes like the ones you have now. If you keep the square pulls, you're gonna grow to hate those things. Trust me. 😁 Also, great idea to hang art or one of y'all's photos over the electric panel! Love your whole house!! ❤️

Jessa, I absolutely LOVE your new home! It is so bright and fresh. I think you are so right about the bathroom shower, it is so much easier to clean a solid surface. I hate cleaning tile grout also it will be really easy to discourage mold growth on a solid surface. I think white appliances are a great idea. I finally got stainless steal ones several years ago and they are so hard to keep clean! I am definitely going a different route when these give out.
