Interesting! I've been researching this a lot and this is the only instance where ive seen someone just add capacitors instead of removing the old ones
@zul_fix Жыл бұрын
the old ones have not stopped working, they still do but do not filter as they should, adding capacitors besides being less work to do adds filtering capacity to the old ones as well.

@zul_fixАй бұрын
It refers to the NEC Tokins so might as well replace them or just add the caps like i did on this video.
@LiamWhitАй бұрын
I'll do that, when I add them should I add it to the exact place where u put yours? What exact resistors did you use. I have thermal pads and paste sitting around so I'll do this
@zul_fixАй бұрын
@@LiamWhit You can place them anywhere around the Original NEC Tokins as long as you have the negative side of the caps on the negative side of the board and the positive side of the cap on the positive side of the board. Where the Negative is the inside where the tokins are and the positive the otherside of the line. 470uf tatalum capacitors are what i use.
@LiamWhitАй бұрын
@@zul_fix thanks seems straight forward! Where u put yours just the 2 with thermal pads ontop do u reckon that will do the trick? Is it just giving the capacitors extra strength in simple terms. Had to add in. Instead of using grinding tool would a small flathead screwdriver be okay to use, have seen others do that
@zul_fixАй бұрын
@@LiamWhit Hi again, yes tthe thermal pads adds extra strenght cools them down and also avoids continuity in case the solder toches the plate which shouldnt do. If you dont have a grinding tool you can scrape it with something sharp, make sure you dont go too deep though.

Sure but you need to be certain that the motherboard is the same model as the one you have at the moment, and be sure that it works too.

Okay, also would it work if I put the motherboard in the freezer for a while because the oven technique did not work. I’m sure you’ve heard of the oven technique.

I have heard of the hoven but that does more damage than good. On the freezer if you want it to die permanently it is a good solution. So my guess is not to do it.
