I'd like to see more work on cars like this mustang. As I mustang fan I like learning about them. And other old vehicles with a cult following, like the squarebody chevy trucks.

Love your videos. One of my first cars was a 96 Grand Am SE 2 door. I forgot how great that car was. Watching your videos inspired me to look for a nice Grand Am needing some love for my daughter's first car. You make everything look so easy and fun to work on.

Nice fix for the exhaust. Not one of my favourite jobs to do. Hats off to the fellow lube tuber for lending the shop space. Even though it is hard to believe there are still good people out there. Commonly known as car guys. Thanks for sharing

You’ve made mention of the grimace you make when doing things on a vehicle. My father did that and my brother and myself also do it. Why, I have no clue but I’m 66 now so it’ll stay that way 😂. Wishing you continued success and lots more videos. Thank you to your friend to be gracious enough to share his shop with you. There still really are good people out there.

Nice job on the exhaust. It's actually the correct exhaust as well. Nice to see the tailpipes that look normal not like stove pipe sticking out the back

Im no mechanic but my dad was and i was wrenching with him most weekends and i didnt see anything wrong but you just got to love the early BTR trannies unlike the later versions where the fill plug is on the transmission

I had numerous Ford 5.0's... Don't miss them a bit.. I probably replaced: 13 rear main seals, 52,000 4r70 aod transmissions and I swear that every power steering unit whinned directly out the factory when built. Yea, I won't be running out to buy any Panther platform cars or fox bodies anytime soon.... Don't miss the headaches a bit of those $ pits....

Some burning questions: Did Mr Spotty survive the fire or is the shirt you are wearing in memory of? Did you find the fishing bobber in the transmission pan? The gasket looks to be aftermarket , ( black with white FARPAK lettering ) so someone else may have done the gasket change wrong and left the bobber out.

No bobber, that fluid was waaaay to clean. Someone has certainly been there before. Mr Spotty is on the run after the fire.

Hello Scott,when you change the oil in the Mustang transmission, how do you get the dirty transmission oil out of the tork converter to keep it from catamanting the new 5 qts??

Ford’s have a drain plug, if not you can pull the trans cooler lines and flush it. I was more concerned with the leaks and the fluid was clean so I just left the converter alone.

Using a lift makes this job a lot easier. I build a new exhaust for my 1982 Mitsubishi L300 without a lift. Not the easiest job!

At least it has a transmission dipstick unlike most modern cars that make it as difficult as possible.

Modern cars eliminated the dipstick as a way to prevent overfilling / miracle transmission additives to be added under warranty causing a failure. With better sealing systems, leaks are mostly a think of the past. Manual transmissions don't have a dipstick. Well most of them, there are a few rare exceptions like some 80's front drive GM and a few non USA cars.

@@bobroberts2371sure cuz those leveling plugs are so much easier for a DIYer. Some just hid them. Ford trucks still have one just not under the hood, Mazda Galway down the engine, half of the Nissans have them under the locked cap.

I just don't get it, the biggest problem with those stupid drainless pans is the t-fluid gets in your hair (and stays there for months)...
