Watching you guys taking the Lotus dashboard apart is amusing. The airbag cover is SUPPOSED to be held on with sacrificial plastic clips that break away when the airbag deploys. Janky repairers will use tape or Velcro but they are supposed to replace the clips. For the record, that radio panel is for the Elise, not the Tesla. The Tesla had a double-din radio.

Electrocution = Death by electric shock. You can get shocked without dying, but thats not gettin electrocuted, being electrocuted implies death. But def try to avoid getting shocked at all costs lol. You gotta be real delicate with interiors not to scratch or break anything Especially if theirs no replacement parts but sometimes they make em real hard to be delicate with em and then some clip or panel gets broken when your too rough with it, I hate it when that occasionally happens to me lol so I really try not to let that happen. I dig those Tesla Roadsters man, I think this is the first time I've seen a dash on one disassembled. Weren't them Tesla Roadsters built on a Lotus chassis or body or something? That's a bummer you guys couldn't find proper wiring diagrams n stuff. Sweet episode as usual. ✌️✌️

I inherited a del Sol when my mother in law passed. It looked great - shiny paint, engine ran good. I decided to drive it to work. Half way there in the middle of rush hour traffic, I hit an open spot and floored it. Got up to typical highway speeds and then suddenly everyone in front of me was showing brake lights. I pushed hard on the brakes, and it started slowing down, then the pedal went to the floor. No brakes! Had to pull of the road and onto the median to stop in time using the handbrake. I drove into work using the handbrake the rest of the way. Got into the parking garage and decided that I would drive it back home now, rather than later. Scary drive!

Yeah the instant torque is one of things that make EVs great fun! I think the original roadster had a stated range of 244 miles. However real world would be lower (especially if driven hard!) and after 13 odd years the battery will have degraded capacity some (amount depends on how it was looked after) also.
@AB-80XАй бұрын
It will degrade, but when this low, it's done and it needs a new battery. I know, I have a 2012. Even at this age, if the battery is good, it should typically read around 190-200 miles of range as it takes into account how the car has been driven. 104 is just way off, and he will experience the charging issues.
@garbanzomeme28 күн бұрын
I used to own one. 244 miles was the quoted range on a 100% charge in range mode. in standard mode it’s more like 145-165 depending on your driving.
@AB-80X28 күн бұрын
@@garbanzomeme Interesting. I never had issues getting about 190 miles on mine, and I don't baby it. Mine is a 2.5. Now it has the new 75 kwh battery and can charge at 22kw.
