I'm so glad that you take umbrage with Konami omitting Keith Courage from the TG16 "mini". Does not compute!! This is like Sega not adding any sports games to the Genesis mini! Cmon guys, get the goddamn license! But I have to disagree with your issues with NEC changing everything for the NA market. I think the US TG16 is loads cooler than what the Japanese got. When I saw the 16 for the first time, I actually dropped my pants and sat on the bed. Yeah I later got kicked out of that kids house but it was a completely involuntary reflex. I loved that machine!

I can remember as a little kid always wanted to get legendary axe, but it was never in stock at the toy r us in my town. (toys r us was the only place you could find turbo grafx games in my town.) They always had legendary axe 2, but I never got it because my little kid brain told me that if I never played the first one, I would be lost in the 2nd. So I never got to play either of them.

I have the same problem when I play these mini consoles, or when I pick up a bunch of games at once. I'll play something until I reach an annoying spot and then I pop in something else. Have to remind myself to by no more than one or two games at a time so I'll actually sit and play those fuckers until they're finished.

Well said about the PC Engine Mini convenience. That’s why I don’t really like flash carts. It’s the greatest way to never play anything at all when you have all the choices. You also play better when it’s real games on real hardware. Maybe it’s psychosomatic, but I get way further in a real game than some rom version of it.

May favorite console of all time!!! 8 bit CPU running at 7.16 MHz 21 bit address bus!! 2 -16 bit graphics processors with 512 available colors, with 482 on screen at on time! 241 for backgrounds and 241 for sprites!!! Just to let u know the CPU ran at twice the speed of the 16 bit SNES CPU!! And tho the genesis also had 512 available colors! The PC engine could display almost 8 times more than that of the genesis! Genesis could display 64 on screen and the SNES 256! So even though the PC engine was technically a 8 bit system because of the CPU, it was pretty much just as powerful as the SNES and genesis!!!! Amazing hybrid console!!
