Marty same as you, Im no mechanics and that's why we are better then them. 99 percent of mechanics are careless we are doing it with love and passion.

Awesome video here Marty, nothing wrong with learning as you go! One thing I decided to do, at least on my own cars (I used to work for a fleet) was every time I had a major repair I would do two things, clean the engine with the canned degreaser/hose or "soft water rinse " . Plus treat all the fasteners with penetrant oil. When I set aside some time to do a little prep work first, like buying a box of zip lock bags, some blank paper, and a felt pen for labels and to put the small parts in, everything goes much more smoothly. Because the tendency is to think in the moment: No way I'll forget what this part goes to! 3 days later... Doing all this prep-work helped me enormously to do the job and the re-assembly, and made it a lot more pleasant.

Looking forward to the startup! Other than the injectors and plastic being so brittle, it looks like fixing the original problem excluding the overhaul you're in the middle of could be a pretty simple job. This series is extremely valuable to owners of 460s and 600hs.

Yes, I could have just left the gaskets/leaks as they were and just fixed the injectors which wasn’t the most difficult job but also not fun 😅 There’s just a lot in a small area, and with most of it being plastic it gets so brittle. The injectors are $400 new each which is why I’m going the used route 😅 Doing it myself and taking my time has save a lot of money. I hope it can help others.

Does Lexus require RTV seal on V8 valve cover gasket?
@sergiorogelio26958 ай бұрын
Yes, only a small amount between the heads and the timing cover. It’s a very small amount.

That's why buying a new car is a downgrade. The older old school lexus toyotas Nissans and such out lasts most of the newer cars. Alot of the old ones if properly maintained and taken care of could last half a million even over a million miles. I've seen it before.

It’s the LS460 is an absolute garbage from Lexus.
@jgranger20028 ай бұрын
I'd have to agree. Having worked on lexus products for 25 years these cars are expensive to repair and break far more often than anything in the past.

There really is no such thing as a garbage Lexus but there will always be a model that is the least reliable for each brand. The car itself is amazing to drive and a fantastic place to be inside of.
