i love that gopro under the chassis...you can clearly see that the diff is continuosly nodding with the stock arms

I'm glad you liked that camera angle. I actually bought a magnet for my GoPro that I think was rated for 150mph for a drag racing car, it's got a very strong magnet and I feel okay leaving my GoPro hanging underneath my Wrangler while I'm doing test drives!

With a 2.25 - 2.5" lift, I only needed adjustable front lower control arms, the rest were fixed, also installed a transfer case drop kit. My '05 TJ Rocky Mtn rides excellent now.

@@RustyAutoholicGuy im on a budget build. Is there a budget version you can recommend. I only have the 2.5L 4cyl auto 3.5 coil spacer. Just had the shocks replaced with oem replacements. My next step is the adjustable control arms. Wheels are 2005 moabs with 285/75/16s. Rides smooth, just need to fix the drive shaft vibration. Everything else is stock
@RustyAutoholicGuy3 жыл бұрын
I went with these because I was on a budget as well. You could just replace the rear to fix your driveline vibrations for now. Made in the USA and lifetime warranty as well. I don’t know if any that are cheaper. Just look at their Tier 1 set.

Gday ☺I boughtMaxpeedingrods for my 98 and the RUBBERS in the rear seem very loose •Is that normal ?Also how tight should the original Bolts be in the new Bushes ?They seem quite loose as well 🙄Really need some clarity here ☺
@RustyAutoholicGuy2 жыл бұрын
Mine were tight and not loose at all, since this deals with the geometry of your axles, I would find new hardware so that the bolts are tight to install so you don't have any give between the axles and the frame.

Where and how did you relocate the brake line that was attached to the stock upper bracket?
@robertdoran7387 Жыл бұрын
This is EXACTLY the video I needed to see today. Just had an SYE and driveshaft upgrade on my 2003 Wrangler but the shop didn't change the axle angle. I've been shopping around for adjustable rear control arms and am looking at Core 4X4. My only question is, do you have a lift and if not, would a 3" lift offer more clearance between the diff and gas tank?
@robertpc1003 жыл бұрын
what problem did you have with upper control arms hitting the gas tank? or does most everyone have a problem wth something else hitting the gas tank? thanks a million friend.great job!!!
@Maxxis19413 жыл бұрын
Most probably the differential housing because it's moved back slightly. Not an issue with a Dana 35, but with a 44 it's a tight fit even at stock arms length.

Nice work man, did you slather the inner threads with antisease or grease? Mine would always rust together untill I added a grease zerk to the top side.

Hey Patrick thank you so much! Yeah I did put some grease on the bolts before installing the control arms!

@@RustyAutoholicGuy Suggestion: tap a grease fitting into both bushing ends on the top side. Prolong the bushing life even though they have a lifetime guarantee.

great job.did you raise jeep with suspension lift? I noticed you had SYE and new drive shaft so i have a tj thats a 99 with 2 in. lift and thought id get at least uppers control arms to raise front of my pumpkin to better align my driveshaft.do you think i can get by for now with just getting the rear uppers? i dont have any vibrations but im sure it would help with wear and tear in future.Later i want to add SYE and new driveshaft, but one shop told me if i didnt go any more than 2 in. id be ok but i know my driveline is off some.so looking for a cheap but effective set of adjustable upper control arms to start.I havent checked prices on the core type.Any idead appreciated.sincerely awesome job. thank you
@RustyAutoholicGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hey Robert, sorry for the late reply, been a crazy week! So no I did not raise my suspension HOWEVER I did raise the drivetrain so I had a steeper angle on my driveshafts. I designed it so I basically have a flat bottom on my TJ. All of my driveline components are above the bottom of my frame rails if that makes sense. If you have any kind of lift, I would highly recommend the adjustable control arms to get all your pinion angles correct, after driving my setup with the pinion angles being off, I can't understate of much better the ride was once I had the correct geometry in my driveshafts. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Can you adjust , adjustable control arms, after they are installed, or do you have to adjust them beforehand?

Yes but you still have to remove the bolt from one end of the eyelet to spin the control arm to make adjustments.

Hey Robert, first off sorry for the late reply I've been on vacation and just am getting back online with everything. The thing with my setup is I had raised my entire driveline and my driveline as also shifted forward quite a bit as well so I would say start at ½" and then check once your Jeep is under it's own weight. Good luck and let me know if you need any other information!

With a double cardan joint setup, your pinion angle should be 1-2 degrees LOWER than your driveshaft angle, not equal.

Stock suspension and your pinion angle is that far off I don't understand
@RustyAutoholicGuy4 жыл бұрын
I diesel swapped my TJ and moved the entire driveline so that it was above the bottom of the frame rail which created the steep angles. I installed a Kubota V2403 turbo diesel, AW4 automatic transmission, a Eco Box doubler and NP231J. I moved the entire drivetrain forward and up to accommodate for the doubler and getting everything tucked up above the bottom of the frame-rails.
