Stay away from preservatives, too much sun and or in some instances even bright lights. My brother's kidneys packed up and for many years he hallucinated and suffered from severe sleep apnea. @KS-xk2so3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think the mistake was fucking House up so much before they let him get a shot at being with Cuddy. House of Seasons 1-4 and Cuddy would've made a good couple. By Season 7 they'd destroyed House as a character to the point where it was obvious he'd never be happy with anyone, plus they'd saddled Cuddy with a kid by then. Talk about doomed from the start. Had they tried it earlier, he probably could've stayed the jerk he was, but had some happiness.

@@KS-xk2so I think the female Main character House may have been most compatible with was 13. She was almost as unhappy as he was and at least as cynical. This scene has always annoyed me - there absolutely are tests for AIP that don't require a month's worth of genetic testing. Watson-Schwartz urinalysis confirms porphyria in general, fecal porphyrin levels distinguish between AIP and other forms. House was always best when they weren't fudging the medicine to make it more dramatic - this isn't such a case.

@RLplusabunchofdumbnumbers3 жыл бұрын
@@madhavilatha7862 Nah, the Watson-Schwartz test was invented in 1941. The "sample has to be taken during an attack" bit is the core fiction that's the problem - Scrubs, for instance, gets the medicine correct when a random sample turns purple due to exposure to sunlight (similar to what House does at the end of this clip). In the case of Scrubs though, they didn't think to test it (it's a rare diagnosis), they didn't claim there wasn't a test.
@RLplusabunchofdumbnumbers3 жыл бұрын
@@antondelacruz9362 Getting the medicine right a decent chunk of the time is one of the main things that separates House from melodramatic hokum like Grey's Anatomy - from audience reception, I'd suggest plenty of people without medical knowledge grasp the difference even if they can't pinpoint the exact reason.
@watsonga0503003 жыл бұрын
But they DID do the Watson-Schwartz test? That's what they were doing with the urine, I'm not sure if they said in the show but it had to have been the Watson test since the urine turned black. (AFAIK with the Hoesch test it turns a bright red to indicate, not black.) Introducing a DMAB to urine containing porphobilinogen is what causes the color reaction. I think what you may have missed was that, since it was intermittent, they needed to induce a reaction to get any urine containing the porphobilinogen. His body wasn't already flooded with it, and they didn't run tests immediately after his first attack since they had yet to come up with that theory.

@SleepinGriffin3 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's ego trying to keep House from forcing a cocktail of API trigger chemicals into a unconsenting patient's IV. While House is always right, the characters don't know that and they know what the law is for doctors. They can't force something on a patient. They have to consent to treatment. They can let the patient die if the patient doesn't consent. If House was wrong, and he'd ended off worse than he already was, it wouldn't just be a "normal" malpractice lawsuit.
