You should be able to adjust the fan speed from your BIOS. It'll give you a nice graph for you to adjust the speed of the fans based on how hot the CPU gets. By default these things are usually pretty aggressive hence why you're maybe not noticing much of a difference in sound right now.
@sanderbos21 сағат бұрын
This is good advice, also because you mention the PSU fan but the case will also have fans, and probably in the BIOS you can temporarily control those down as well to check for noise (of course depending on motherboard, but I once had a lot of fun getting those fan speeds all correct for different loads). The GPU fans will probably stop spinning after about a minute, if there is no GPU load (even my ancient GTX970 did that, you probably have something newer).

good job just going for it buddy! i was both proud to see you do it and terrified as it unfolded... with love, here's some feedback on your "work" 🤣 you really should be working on this stuff with the PC on it's back, motherboard flat against the ground so to speak... gravity is your friend, thermal paste won't break off and drop onto your other components below, the thermal paste will also spread properly when you put the new stuff on. You used WAY too much paste... a single drop in the center about the size of a shelled sunflower seed is all you need (i have replaced several hundred CPU's) and the gravity/downward force of the CPU cooler will spread the paste to the edges sufficiently, you also won't drop parts (screws) or tools down onto your other parts being just a pain and potentially causing damage... you should always disconnect power before doing something like this... open the side case, put your bare hands on the metal and then remove the power cable, continue touching the metal chassis and then push and hold the main power button on/in for a few seconds as well... then you should be good to go last pro tip - next time document your CPU core temperatures at rest and under load before you swap out either thermal paste or heatsink/cooler... so you know it's at least the same, ideally it will be lower temp's for both though... q-tips and 90% isopropyl alcohol work great for cleaning criticisms aside i'm still proud of you for doing it ❤

@@cameraconspiracies Never scrimp on your PSU. New CPUs use more power, and new GPUs drink power with a slurp and a burp. PSUs are easy, but I recommend that you have the CPU repair shop do it, because it should not be expensive.
@blutey14 сағат бұрын
The sound from the problematic fan travels through the metal case making it hard to determine which one is at fault. When I had a similar problem, I used a piece of rolled up tissue to touch each fan and temporarily stop it for a few seconds to see which fan's bearings have gone. For me, it's always been one of the case fans that need replacing. The CPU fans tend to be very robust and rarely break.

Where do I begin. Having watched hundreds of your videos, I think this might be the funniest! The bonehead moves could also have been titled: "What not to do while building a PC!". Here are just a few of the mistakes which might help you next time you "upgrade" your PC. 1. The ryzen 7000 series CPU you ordered would not have fit in your machine, because the form factor changed when it was introduced. 2. This job would be way easier if you just lie down your PC on a flat surface. Then you have gravity working for you when you remove the paste. 3. Why not connect the PC fan motherboard connector before screwing in the CPU cooler? Keep on filming this kind of out of the box video which is different than your usual content, Kasey! Well done. @06:00 It secures when you screw in the CPU cooler brackets. It distributes the mounting pressure of the cooler over a wider range of the motherboard and provides threads for the cpu coolers. Don't worry about the thermal paste. You did a good job spreading it a little. The most important thing is that it is enough paste to cover the CPU. The mounting pressure of the CPU cooler spreads it evenly over the whole surface of the CPU. That rattle @09:05 was a little worrying. Please make sure that there are no metal parts loosely in your PC case. This can lead to shorted circuits on the motherboard if something conductive like a screw touches it while it is running. Please investigate it a little further. Think logically, you only installed a new CPU cooler, this was either part of the old cooler, which I doubt, or something of the new cooler. If all the screws of the mounting bracket are still where you screwed them into the cooler mounting "back" plate, you are fine. Then it was most likely just a cable on the backside.
