Where's the part about how to remove the 3 nuts beside and behind the throttle body?

Thanks for the video, drivers side spark plugs came out a little hard, made me nervous but just worked them back and forth a little to get the threads clear.

Thank you for this video. Good job explaining clearly step by step. I liked your side suggestions also. Amazing what has to be removed just to change out some plugs. Boy I love those old cars.

Great video. Doesnt have a bunch of useless chatter and nonsense talking. Makes me feel more prepared to tackle this regardless if you missed a few bolts like some people say.

The video covers everything, but you still need to remove a couple hoses and you can’t move the plenum without loosening the lower 13mm bracket bolts. The firewall side 13mm nut is a pain because there is a press on retainer that makes it too narrow for a combo wrench. I used a pry bar to move the retainer and fished a wrench down there. I missed the part about screwing the plenum bolts up into the plenum but figured it out after a few minutes. All six spark plugs took me 2 hours. Thanks for the video.

Yes. He left out the two most important and harder parts of the job. The other was the hidden screw you can't see.

Good video. I would have cleaned the Throttle Body while I had the intake pipe off. Ignition OFF, just push the throttle blade open and wipe the opening and blade down with brake parts cleaner. Will make it idle better if its clean. The blue gaskets are called upper intake plenum gaskets. I put a small thin coating of antiseize on the spark plug threads. I also carefully examine the coil boots. Look for hardening/cracking or deposits on the rubber insulating tube. The coil tubes and sparkplug wells MUST be oil and water/moisture free. I clean the rubber coil insulating tubes with alcohol or brake parts cleaner then and add a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber insulator opening.

Some spark plugs say not to use antisieze.

Thats a pritty good walk though ... but there is a bracket up in the back by the throttle body
@bmiller055 жыл бұрын
Ryan, what did you do to deal with that bracket? I loosened the manifold, but I cant get to the brackets to loosen them enough to move the manifold.
@Spikezz555 жыл бұрын
@@bmiller05 i did the top nuts on the side brackets so you can slide it out . But there is a bracket behind the throttle. I believe its 2 nuts and a stud that has part of the wiring harness attached to it .. that has to come out then you can slide it towards the passinger side then out

He covered the basics for the DIY home mechanics. Shop owners hate how much information is available on youtube because it saves people hundreds of dollars doing it at home instead of getting ripped off.

The 4 side mount nuts are completely unnecessary and add so much time to what should be a 30 minute job. I dont understand at all what they were thinking.

1. You can buy spark plugs with the correct gap for your car. 2. You don't need a tourqe wrench. A German mechanic will say "tighten good" with a german accent😂😂😂😂 3. There are a couple of pain in the ass screws that might need extensions and swivel head sockets.

Can’t see what you’re doing, camera needs to follow you- not helpful for me- but I wish I had a mechanic with your skill.
